Hi All! I won the lottery to 'Cats' for this evening and already paid for the ticket, but then had an emergency and wasn't able to make it. I wish I had posted this sooner, but I was really trying to get into the city but just couldn't. I know that it's very late notice but if anyone at all is currently in the area and would like to see 'Cats' for free, I'd love for you to pick up my lottery ticket. I don't know how it works with IDs, maybe someone here does? I just really hate that this ticket is going to waste! PM me.

I know! I'm SO SO sorry that I posted it so close to curtain, but I was truly hoping that someone just happened to be in the area. And like I said, it was a very last-minute emergency and I didn't know that I couldn't make it until very, very late. Sorry, starcatcher!!
They were extremely nasty to me on a day that I arrived 8 minutes past the hour after one of the major subway meltdowns. Not only did they refuse to past-date, they made a large group of us wait outside in the lobby for the first 15 minutes to totally miss the opening number. I wouldn't hold my breath about them past-dating your ticket. I told everyone I knew what a nasty experience (and frankly, what a terrible show) this was ; they lost FAR FAR more in ticket sales due to my word of mouth over a ~$38 lottery ticket that they could have easily past-dated. When you treat someone terribly, believe me, nasty word of mouth spreads.

I guess it's true what they say --- Hell hath no fury like a theatre queen scorned!!

I understand the frustration over past-dating the ticket (they should have done that, especially given that there's plenty of available tickets for Cats). However, most shows (especially musicals) won't seat latecomers until "a suitable break in the performance." This is nothing new or unique to Cats. Les Miz made you wait until after the prologue was over. It's disruptive and distracting to the people already seated, and I have no problem with it.
Yep, you are all correct. I called them and told them my emergency situation even though I had paid for the ticket already hours earlier (and I'm broke! - and I made sure to stress that) and they said absolutely not, even though the theatre is basically empty every night!
EXTREMELY disappointing and bad business on their part!! Makes me not even want to see the show anymore.
