Hmmm...including his lyrics-only shows, unquestionably West Side Story-probably greatest all around accomplishment in musical theater. But I think we're really talking about his full scores shows. Much harder call. Personally, I'd vote for Sweeny Todd by a whisker over Company. But I believe Funny Thiing...Forum gets the most overall productions of all his work. I'd be glad to debate & defend my choices!

Sweeney is probably his masterpiece but my personal favorite Sondheim musical is Sunday in the Park with George.

I think the most" successful" ( financially)l work is "A Little Night Music".
