Does anyone know if a cast recording of Schoolhouse Rock LIVE exists? I'm going to be doing it soon and the TV show versions are in different keys and have a slight difference in arrangement. I haven't been able to find a recording. I know there are some YouTube videos of the show but I haven't found a killer production to use as vocal reference. So if anyone knew of one of those that'd be helpful too!

There should be! I did that musical in high school for the local elementary schools. We had the instrumental and full accompaniment discs. Perhaps search around? Did you get the script through a company?

When I did this show we had to work from the original TV versions, but I don't remember it being a very difficult transition at all. (Granted, this was 1998.)

Your mileage may vary, but it's the most fun show I've ever been a part of and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I only know of the rehearsal/performance tracks as discussed above. I don't think this is a show that's ever had any sort of major production.

The rehearsal/performance disc is fro Schoolhouse Rock JUNIOR - the shortened, simplified version designed to be performed by students.
