He's on for the matinee right now as well. I'll report back after the show is over.

I saw Curtis yesterday and I was blown away by him. I saw Anthony in the show before and I have to say that Curtis gave the role a great twist. I loved Lucas' sarcasm and the edgy way Curtis played him. Bouncy, playful. He worked great with both Idina and Jason. I would try to catch him as Lucas if you can. He didn't stage door but that was a good choice because the crowd last night was nuts. I would love to tell him that he rocked the role.
I thought he was... okay. I thought his vocals were kind of weak, and I found the character kind of annoying. I'm curious how Anthony Rapp plays Lucas.

I saw Charles Hagerty for James Snyder and thought he did a great job.
Dean: Can I tell you something?
Lorraine: That depends on what it is.
Dean: I think you're really really pretty.
Lorraine: (after a pause) Ok, you can tell me that.
I don't know. He was not in the matinee on Sunday. It's a little early to tell. If he's not in, then you will see Curtis Holbrook. He did not disappoint!
Curtis Holbrook was still on as Lucas as of yesterday's matinee. No other understudies were on except for the person covering Holbrook's usual track.
"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe."
-John Guare, Landscape of the Body
Saw the show on Wednesday (matinee. Happy to report that Curtis NAILED "both" Lucases! Sweet and charming, strong and brash, without a trace of whine - it was nice to see the character without and (intended or not) RENT subtext. Have to admit I preferred him yp Rapp.
And the guy in Curtis' track was excellent as well!
^^ Isn't this where someone on here starts a "I shouldn't really say anything, BUT... a friend of mine involved with the show says Anthony Rapp is IMPOSSIBLE backstage and has been let go" rumor?
Anthony still out tonight. We were wondering something along those lines. Curtis is pretty good in the role though he reads a bit younger than Idina. He really fits in with the cast. Love them all and the interplay during the show.....tonight Idina flubbed a line, apparently the same line she flubbed in the matinee, as she is getting on the subway.....and she pardoned herself and asked to do it over again....exited the stage and re-entered and did the line correctly.
I also saw Curtis on Friday night and thought he was wonderful. He is a bit younger than the rest of them but he worked extremely well with Idina and Jason Tam.
