You can just go, but you're across the crowed street. Back in the day, when I would get a comp ticket to the dress rehearsal, that would be the best time to catch people. The crowd, at least, back then wasn't so huge. But I have never attempted at Radio City Music Hall This year, I will actually be there Tony night, but I'm going bar hopping instead.
Any recommendations on how early someone would need to arrive to get a good spot?
I just found out today that I have to be in the city for a Monday morning meeting, so I booked an early Sunday flight and I think I'm going to try to catch the Red Carpet!
IF you want to watch the red carpet, you are across the street and you really can not see much. So anytime before the Tonys is a good time. Security was very tight last year. So unless you have a ticket or press pass you will not be able to get close. Just FYI.
Across the street is closer than North Carolina. I figured I wouldn't be able to get too close, but it would be fairly exciting to see all the arrivals.
Any guesses on who will make an impression on the red carpet? Talking fashion here, of course. We don't usually get the high fashion glamour of The Oscars, but there can still be some fun looks. The perennially lovely Bernadette Peters almost always seems to get it just right. Loved her two most recent looks:
