Is Broadway Week 2014 happening?

I'll be in NYC from January 20 until the first week of February. Are the any chances of Broadway Week happening during that time span?
I'm wondering if I should buy my tickets now or wait for the possible discounts...

Yes Broadway week will going to happen in the month of January.Not officially declared but there is Broadway week in January every year.In 2014 may be from January 22 – February 7.

I guess I just got afraid that it might be cancelled, postponed or something after hearing they put off Restaurant Week because of the Superbowl. I hope they won't though.

It was announced today that Broadway Week is happening January 21 - February 6, 2014.

Mark your calendars. Two-for-One Tickets go on sale at 10:30AM January 6th. Remember Broadway Week coincides with Super Bowl (heavy tourism) week leading up to the 2/4 game.

Melissa, you just made my voice. I was literally just buying 2 tickets for The Lion King right now, so thankfully I saw your post on time.

I'll be waiting anxiously for January 6th.

So, does that mean one cannot purchase 2-for-1 tix at the box office until Jan. 6? Or does that date apply only to online purchases?

Any restrictions as to days of week, matinees vs. evening, etc., this year? Thanks!

I believe that date applies to both the Box Office and online purchases. And yes, some shows have restrictions and limited availability, each show varies.

It seems that sales are already open. I've read it's only for AARP members(?) but there's a note that reads

"Anyone who receives this information can purchase 2-for-1 Broadway tickets using code BWWKPR."

So does it mean a can buy the tickets already using the code (even though I'm not an AARP member)?

My mom is an AARP member and just used the code to get tickets to Cinderella - got front mezz row B center. Their's was restricted to only the front mezzanine (which IMO is perfect). Also looked at Lion King tickets - they only had the very sides of the orchestra (seats 9/10 and over which may be partial view? not sure) available and the rear mezzanine.

I'm not an AARP member. Can I use that code to purchase the tickets today or is it really for members only?

You can use that code. I just did for After Midnight. Mezzanine Row A - can't wait!!
