The original production's closing night. Gamache was one of the few Cassies who danced the number at the tempo that Donna McKechnie did. Fast. She's on fire here.
Thanks for posting this! She went on to direct/choreograph a lot of Chorus Line productions around the country. I had the opportunity to work with her many moons ago when she directed a regional production where I played Paul - it was a great experience. Good to see her in this and the last few seconds are very touching.
"Observe how bravely I conceal this dreadful dreadful shame I feel."
I was there closing night and "on fire" pretty well sums it up.
I thought that final cast was the best Broadway cast since the original.
ETA: Just watched that clip and the way it is edited isn't adequate to convey Laurie's incredible talent or the excitement in the theater. I had seen the show two weeks earlier and she, and the entire cast, were just as great, but of course, that last night was special. I saw most of the replacement casts over the years, and despite many wonderful individual performances, that last group overall was was the only one I thought in a league with the original. So thankful there's a good boot (which I unfortunately no longer have, so don't bother to PM).
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
I think I saw her in this as I saw the show several times. I also saw Pamela Souza as Cassie. A friend of mine got to go to the final performance as he was dating someone in the cast at the time.

I happened to see two of those, ten years apart. She Cassied the hell out of Cassie both times. Chatted with her after both and she was a very warm person. She strikes me as somebody totally committed to the show and her character.
