If you did what did you think? When i heard the news she was doing it i literally had the biggest gay boy freak out moment. I haven't freaked out that much since i watched Lupone do " A NEW ARGENTINA" at the TONYS :P. Anyways, Did you enjoy her performance? I have watched several clips on youtube and i am in love with her rendition of "I DREAMED A DREAM". It's so rough and powerful and tragic and I thought she completely nailed it. Some of the notes were a little rough and i think that made me love it even more. Sierra has such a stunning and beautiful voice and i was afraid she might sound "too pretty" but i was definitely wrong. The coolest part about watching her sing IDAD was after i was done with that clip i went back and listened to her sing "PART OF YOUR WORLD" Its so haunting to here Ariel sing a dying prostitute's song lol. I also understand it that Her husband also played Javert! I bet the chemistry during the ARREST was amazing to watch live. If you did watch her Live i would love to hear your thoughts.
I think she replaced Jill Paice in the ensemble, actually (either that or they were in the show at the same time). She wasn't in the tour very long; she left to co-originate Christine in the Vegas Phantom.

I thought she was one of the best Fantines I've ever seen. For such a stunning singer (most of the time) she made you forget about singing. It was a play and she was an actress playing a character. Nothing more. The fact she did it so well meant the emotional impact was incredible.
I'll answer here since I rarely go to the west end board
when I saw Les Mis in London last year I had absolutely no clue who was in the cast... so when I read the programme and it was Sierra Boggess as Fantine... i had never seen her live only on the Little Mermaid recordings and the Phantom vids and stuff and I've loved her voice
that being said... I was kinda disappointed in her Fantine... as someone pointed out her accent was all over the place... it was an absolutely beautifully acted out Fantine but her voice left much to be desired for me... it was kinda harsh... i guess that's what she was going for maybe? i dont' know... all i know is that i was disappointed but not enough that it make me not still be her fan... maybe the role just wasn't for her...
additionally... Tam Mutu is probably the best damn Javert I have ever seen... he was so menacing... his death scene was spectacular and i loved how he sang the notes high for "and my thoughts fly apart..." like how Valjean does his... one of the most memorable theater performances i had seen in a while
I was on a study trip in January and was VERY fortunate enough to see the West End production. Having seen the movie a few weeks prior, this production was like a pallet cleanser. It was just what I needed after certain disappointing performances from the film. I also caught it on Sierra's last show....Wow. I know a lot of people were not impressed but her acting was just breath taking and I was head over heels in love with her characterization. Her vibrato can get a little much sometimes but it is not really and issue with me.
It was just a very well cast production, everyone was on their game and it showed me why I love Cosette and why "In My Life" is my favorite song in the score.
Tam was also A+ and his "Suicide" was remarkable.

I saw Sierra as Fantine and was very impressed. I loved how she played the character as fragile and childlike, kind of like Fantine in the book. Her singing was not the typical belty Fantine-voice but I thought she sounded great. I loved the whole cast, in fact.
Geronimo Rauch also has the voice of a god. Hands down the best JVJ vocals I have ever heard. Really nice guy too, was walking down the street with him after the show, didn't realize it was him and he was the one who started the conversation.
Didn't hurt that Danielle Hope of Somewhere Over the Rainbow fame was also in the cast.

I hated the musical acting was fine but the story was to me just stupid. Why would you chase a men for years and years and years seems like a terrible waste of time.
