There's quite a rant on the FB, started by her husband, of the use of Erin's name on SMASH. I thought it was a low blow and certainly not true. Krysta is taking some heat also.
Stephen Buntrock about an hour ago While I am very saddened by the cancelation of Smash and the lose of employment of many a friend in the show. I say to you.... Warning! Explicit language ahead. F*CK off Smash! The use of my wife's name in the portrayal that it was presented was TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE! To say that my wife's career is still "On a break." F*CK off! Let's mention a Tony Nomination! Lets mention uncountable TV, Movie and commercial appearances! Lets mention that just last year she appeared in two leading roles on BROADWAY! Last but not least! And more important than anything else! LET US MENTION THE TWO WONDERFUL CHILDREN SHE HAS BROUGHT INTO THE WORLD! On a break?!!!! F*CK YOU!
God bless Mr. & Mrs. Dilly for bringing two wonderful children into the world. I would recommend that Mr. Dilly hire an English tutor for those kids pronto. They'll be needed some assistance growing up in that environment. !
I don't watch Smash. What was/were the line(s) in the show that sparked this?
Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.
Within the context of Smash, a female Broadway performer fears that she may be replaced by another; implying that the director thinks she might not be good enough for the part and that the show is not working on Broadway previews because of her take on the role (the truth is different, but that is not relevant here).
The character's friend tells her they are just rehearsing her understudy to be ready in case she needs to go on. The performer doesn't buy it, as it "happened to Erin Dilly in TMM, just to be replaced by Sutton Foster".
I was kinda shocked they got away with it, to be honest.
Listen, I don't take my clothes off for anyone, even if it is "artistic". - JANICE
What, she wasn't replaced in Thoroughly Modern Millie? Her husband swears she's a major star when we all know differently? I don't think he's really even sorry about "the lose of jobs."
They verbally lied about Erin Dilly's career by stating it was on a break. The same year Millie opened she replaced Laura Benanti in Into the Woods. I guess it isn't a huge deal but could affect her career.
I do know a casting director who may be confused and not even consider Mrs. Dilly for a part if he watched that episode of SMASH, so I will text him to help prevent that from happening and oh by the way ARE YOU PEOPLE EVEN LISTENING TO YOURSELVES???
