I've been googling for a while now but all I seem to find is dated information from 2012 broadwayworld message boards so I figured I'd ask here:
I'm wondering what sorts of shows and prices people are getting with their theatremania gold membership. I've been a member of Audience Extras and TDF for two years now. With AE, the tickets available have shifted hugely since I started with them and now it's almost always music concerts and avant Garde off-off...off...off broadway tickets. It's a good deal if that's your thing but I'm more interested in plays and musicals.
In posts from 2012 people mention getting comps and simply paying the $4.50 processing few but I can't find anything about that on the Theatermania website. Have they just become more like TDF where you're paying $30-$45 for broadway shows? ....in which case, is there any reason I should join when I am already a member of TDF?
I've been looking into play by play as well but previous broadway world posts made it seem like theatermania gold was a better option
Do a search on here and you will get more info. There is a thread once a week on these services. Unfortunately under the TOS we cannot discuss what shows have been offered. You sign an agreement snad your membership could be revoked.
I would say to join when Gold Club is giving a free show as an inducement. Right now the show is The Big Knife. I happened to enjoy that play and thought Cannavale was terrific. So you would get two free tickets to that, plus the year's membership. It's a great deal. I joined in August and have seen 18 shows so far.
On Wednesday they had The Big Knife, and The Testament of Mary. It's a great service. I love it. Going to According to Goldman and Finks from this service this week.
How far in advance do they tend to post a ticket offering? I don't live in NY, but can get there on a few days notice. Just wondering if it's worth it for 'out of towners.'
"Why do you care what people might say? Why try to fit into their design?" (Side Show)
No, I don't think it's worth it for out-of-towners. I have noticed that some good offerings become available in the mid to late afternoon for performances that evening. Of course, once in a while you'll get more of a heads up.
Hi all — Is Theatermania Gold Club no longer offering two free tickets to a select Broadway show as a new membership bonus? I'm not seeing anything about that at the moment on their site.
