^^^My brother posted that, and I had to post facts disputing it.
He deleted my post and left the lies posted.
They just don't want to hear facts...

It stems from that article which takes ONE particular TYPE of gun ("rifles") and compares it to all blunt objects ("Hammers" but also rocks, bottles, clubs, etc.). If you look at the ACTUAL statistics.... Wow.
Some of these gun slingers are as dumb as a bag of hammers.
I haven't even reminded my gun toting brother about the time he shot the television set while watch an episode of Dukes Of Hazzard, with a gun he claimed was empty...
Feels good to get that off my chest.

I grew up in a household filled with guns. I have a respect and yes, a fear of them. Too many times I saw my dd blow a hole in the wall with his shotgun while angry. There were times when there was a little too much back woods partying and gun mishaps.
I have a distant cousin who has been in a wheelchair since he was six due to a loaded gun he found in a friends house that went off and severed his spine.

"Are you sure he didn't shoot the TV set while appearing in an episode of "Dukes of Hazzard"?"
Nope. We were kids sitting in the den, watching the show. He had his bb gun and was twirling it around and when the bad guy drew his gun, my brother drew his and shot a hole right in the middle of the screen. The picture went black and I just looked at him and said, "Oooh, you are in so much trouble when dad gets home!"

Well rifles are the ones you want to ban, so you would think they would want ban the gun that kills the most people, but nope, just the one that "looks" the scariest. Although banning handguns in Chicago doesn't work, so I don't see how it would work in the rest of the country.
And how exactly would these new laws have prevented this shooting? From what I have read it was a handgun on a gun free campus. The nerve of some people, to bring a gun onto a gun free campus. Yeah, because gun free zones have proved to be SO much safer than non gun-free zones, as we've seen the last few months. The mall in portland, the movie theater in Colorado, and the school in Connecticut, all gun free zones, all ended in tragedy. So if you can't see that gun free zones do absolutely nothing, you're pretty stupid.
"Texas, with the most liberal gun laws in the country is becoming the mass shooting capital."
Snafu, so please explain how has texas become the mass shooting capital? One shooting with no fatalities and all of a sudden it's the mass shooting capital? How many people died in this shooting today? How many people died in a shooting in a state with strict gun laws? (CT)
