ClumsyDude15, you're misconstruing the pay cycle.

Everyone in and working on all Broadway shows (and Off-Broadway shows) gets paid on Thursday, but that doesn't mean they're getting paid through their work through the day they get the check. Everyone is paid per performance week, so though they're getting paid on Thursday, that check covers through the end of the subsequent performance week (Sunday, in most cases,) not through the previous Thursday.

Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

I loved foldesi's "That's Rich". I saw a video from broadway in Bryant park and was quite impressed.

Marla: I have to go sing about a life I never led.

ECahill84- I had heard the same thing. he is so in the show though mean who would make up a rumor like that. he probably either hasn't started yet or he got fired. I mean come on.

^ Well, if that's true, he may have started around Sept. 4th (just reading between the lines on Twitter), which means he's probably still learning the different tracks. Maybe that's why there hasn't been announcement yet? I mean, JP was rehearsing with the cast for several weeks before he was announced.

I enjoyed Foldesi's "That Rich" much more than I thought I would. She brings a lot of charm and likability to a song and character that's so clearly written for a persona very much unlike hers, though she ends up really straining to hit the big sustained high notes at the end.

Anyone know if the new guys and girls are stage-dooring?

It looks like they are going to the stage door, at least based upon the pictures I just saw on Tumblr of signed Playbills.

Late to respond: I believe that previously when Jeremy was just suppose to be on vacation, Brendon and Mike were scheduled to go on specific days so even though Corey took over the role, they decided to honor the understudy's previously set dates.

I saw the matinee show on 9/15 and stage doored. And I'd say that most of the new cast members are stage-dooring. David & Jacob Guzman both came out, even the kid who played Les, Jake Lucas, came out and autographed (LaVon Fisher-Wilson didn't come out that day though, but it was a matinee show so maybe she does stage door at night?). Corey Cott came out last and autographed and took pictures. He was very nice and extremely happy to meet and chat with fans. Most of the original cast members came out as well. And I have to say, the entire Newsies cast is incredibly sweet at the stage door. They all take the time to respond to any questions that the fans have for them, and you can just tell that they really enjoy interacting with the show's fans. It's one of the best stage-door experiences I have had. And the show is just AMAZING!!! I saw it once when Jeremy Jordan was there, and he was awesome, but I can honestly say that the show did not lose any of its magic after the cast changes! It's an awesome show, I highly recommend it to everyone!

Maybe one day they'll recast this so that the idea of the actors being impoverished orphan children at the turn of the twentieth century is slightly less than hilarious.

But probably not.

I find I'm able to suspend my disbelief regarding the above point.

I agree with the above about being able to suspend my disbelief. I mean take it for what it is, it may be fluff, but those guys are exceptionally talented and its a marathon of a show for that ensemble. Stage-doored yesterday, the new guys came out snad so did LaVon, it was their only show however, don't know how 2 show days go. I need freakin Ryan Steele on my poster, he's like the only one from the 2 casts I need (as I stated in another thread, Ben sent our window cards back signed, but AKB and Steele weren't on them, but AKB is now, but the elusive Ryan Steele is not lol, and he's the one I really want, of course!) Still a great stage door, incredibly gracious to fans!

Saw the show yesterday and, wow! The Guzman twins are fantastic! Seriously amazing! I didn't even miss Ephraim or Alex as much because they were so good! I can never tell which is which because I think they switched the costumes for Mush and Sniper? Sniper, played by Jacob, was often wearing the costumes that Ephraim had and David as Mush had some of the Sniper costumes. Anyone know if this is true? Iain was a great dancer but didn't stand out quite as much as Kyle did. All very impressive, though! LaVon was great! A better actress than Capathia but I think Capathia sang it better. This show is seriously in great shape and should run for years. Definitely want to go back soon. Corey was fantastic! In many moments, save for the opening prologue, I thought he was much better than Jeremy! Great actor and what a voice. Felt bad for Ben on "go and look it up, the poor guy's head is spinning" because he cracked on the high note. He was great though, and talking to him at the flea market was great.

All in all, Guzman brothers stood out and were fantastic and all of the cast changes seem to have went more than well! Seize the Day has to be top 5 numbers currently performing on Broadway.

We're able to suspend out belief about every character in absolutely everything being a well-groomed, conventionally-attractive twenty-something because those are the only people we are allowed to see in media anymore.

One update: Tom Alan Robbins is currently Roosevelt, presumably until Kevin Carolan returns in November.

And in breaking tradition, the cast leaked a swing's performance for Friday, Oct. 5: Caitlyn Caughell will be "Katherine" for the first time.

^Maybe he is temporarily replacing Tommy Bracco as Spot Conolon since he is out for 6 weeks with a foot injury.

Ron Raines joins the company tomorrow until 12/16/12

Phillytheatreguy- It sounds like Thomson and might be replacing Garrett Hawe from what I've heard.

ECahill- Friends at the Newsies lotto have told me that Ryan Wood played the Newsies lotto everyday for the first like 3 months winning more often than not. He is definitely not going into the show, but was telling people he was...BIZARRE, I know.
