Just wondering about times to get to the box office to have a good chance at standing room tix for BOM. My daughter and I are in town through the 30th, and would love to see the show if we can make it happen. If we tried for tomorrow, what time should we get there and during the week as well.
Just a few weeks ago, I did SRO for a Friday matinee. I was there at approximately 9 and was 10th in line. The first had gotten there at 5am (and then ended up winning the lottery).
Today? I'd get there as soon as you could. If you are BOTH going to stand on line, but only want two tix, you can take turns walking around and like -- make sure folks around you know you are only getting two, hence your absences.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

On Thursday, I waited for SRO tickets. Arrived at the theatre at 2, and I was 20th in line. I would say for an evening show come at 2 o clock AT THE LATEST. I recommend arriving at around 12-1 for an evening performance. The only time I waited for standing room tickets for a matinee was for Andrew Rannells' last show, so I can't help you with a normal matinee performance. I guess you should arrive at around 8 am?
How many standing room spots are there? If I went tomorrow, aside from 6 in the morning, what is the latest I can expect to get in line to get standing room? Really hope to see it before we leave town.
You should be "fine" at 9. Another thought: if when you get there at 9 no one is there...talk a walk, have a cup of coffee, browse in a store. Check back every half hour to forty five minutes -- and don't get in line until there 7 or 8 people.
As far as lottery, they usually come right to the SRO line to let you sign up. Waiting until the end does not guarantee anything -- they mix them up. The guy that runs the lottery tries his best to be fair, and be slightly entertaining.

Would I be totally out of luck if I waited till about noon? I know I would be fine for lottery but for standing room, is the full day/night sit in always required. If so, I may have to do the weekend sit in with my daughter so I could get up once in a while to stretch.
I've entered at all different times within that half-hour window, with a folded slip and without. There aren't any "methods." I did lotto 45 times before I won, and he was recognizing me WAY before that.
Debra: Noon for an evening show should be fine, unless the weather is really really nice.

Thanks everyone, going tomorrow, will get there at noon to make sure to get in. Dont want to leave NY without seeing the show! Wonder if I will get poured on, forecast is rain/storms right? Is the waiting/sitting area, covered by any chance?
The show is sold out every single night and requires one to buy tickets (at face value and not at high resell values) months and months in advance. The next available date of tickets that came up when I looked last week was December 2nd.
I'd say by 8 or 9 for the matinee, 11 for the evening but you could check the below link Rush Report.

You should be fine. Thos people likely went together.
I did sro a few weeks ago and the first person was there at 5am -- I didn't get there until 9 and was 10th in line. Big gap between the first two and the 3rd person.

uncageg - Thanks for answering the question I was about to ask. Personally, I don't know how I would do standing for close to 3 hours but glad others are able to do it and really enjoy the show at a bargain price.
