"I think Ripley was simply victim to the complete overhaul the production went under before moving to Broadway."
Do you know this, or are you just guessing, again?
Because 90% of your posts are what you THINK happened, without any real fact behind them.

Well I did say think. I followed what was happening with the show in Florida--as I said and read the reviews gossip. A good chunk of the cast and creative team was replaced. I don't think my answer offended Best the way it did you, but I'd be happy to hear more of what reeally happened, absolutely.
I've always heard conflicting reports about Ripley's Audrey. Some say she was stunning but wasn't doing what was wanted from her, hence getting the boot. I've also heard she gave an Ellen Greene impression and that's what got her replaced. I don't know the facts.
But the thought of a CGI Audrey II is gross. The puppet work in the Oz film is some of the best ever on screen. Far more seamless than nearly all CGI I've seen, which is of course due to the fact it was a real thing in the same room as the actors, rather than a guy in a green screen suit.
"...everyone finally shut up, and the audience could enjoy the beginning of the Anatevka Pogram in peace."
I always assumed Audrey II was an official Jim Henson Creature Shop creation but according to the Muppet wiki, it wasn't, even though it was designed and operated by basically all Henson associates (including Brian Henson). http://muppet.wikia.com/wiki/Little_Shop_of_Horrors Either way, it's some of the best work they've ever done, which is saying a lot. CGI has come a long way, but I think, besides the rasons you give Kad, it also would lose some of the "down and dirty", even low budget, feel that Little Shop really is served well by.
They'll never cast her but I'm curious to see how Ginnifer Goodwin would do as Audrey(word is she is a trained singer, yet that could mean anything, but still she definitely could pull that character so well and is the master of playing all at once vulnerable, beaten, and desperate behind innocent bright eyes of hope and denial)
I have this awful feeling they'll cast Reese Witherspoon as Audrey or worse Zoe Deschannel
