I know that most shows are going dark during the olympics (which to me is a huge marketing mistake because people going to the Olympics typically have tickets for a few events and have loads of time and money to spend doing other things). I know that Matilda will be open, and so will Top Hat. Anything else that will be open and worth seeing?

Ragtime at the Open Air Theatre is, (at least was, may still be), doing all seats at £20.12 (geddit) during the Olympics.

I'm not sure it's true that most shows are closing during the Olympics.

If it's not most, it's many. And I didn't actually do a show by show count, but in terms of those I tried to get tickets for (e.g. Sweeney Todd) it seemed to be most.

In terms of Ragtime, I saw the original with Audra, Stokes Mitchell and Marin Mazie, so a revival pales in comparison.

It's just Sweeney T taking two weeks off in August.

No other shows are closing.

Ragtime hasn't opened yet. Give it a chance. It may be the best production ever!

What shows have you tried for? All shows except Sweeney are open, that's why the get into London theatre promotion is going offering cheap tickets to most west end shows during the olympics

The Open Air £20.12 deal is now over, though I believe Jersey Boys are currently offering the same discount from top price.
