Does anyone know if the Love Never Dies DVD that will be released in May is viewable with US equipment? I remember reading that some DVDs are not supported by the equipment in the states only in the UK i.e. determined by regions or whatever. Any help is appreciated. thanks
I'm not sure if the dvd and blu-ray will be "region free" or if they will be manufacturing versions for different regions, but you won't have a problem.
And it's currently available for pre-order at the very good price of $14.99 on amazon.
I read that when it is released in the UK in March, the Blu-Ray will be region free and the DVD will be Region 2... so unless you want to wait until May to have both the DVD *and* the Blu-Ray that work, you could buy the Blu-Ray.
So this is going to be in movie theatres on Feb 28 and March 7? I don't understand the "filmed in cinemascope" and then "modified"? Who the heck filmsin cinemascope? And why? That makes no sense.
Now, we have to decide whether to see this - as between the relese to film and DVD - a staging in the US seems very unlikely.
^ A U.S. version on this on Broadway is not likely. After seeing this filming, I don't see why Webber would bring this to Broadway. I thought it was an epic mess... Beautiful costumes and scenery, but the book and score did nothing for me. The filming of the show though is wonderful and it really is a great capture!

I have a copy here... it has been shot in 1:2.35 ratio, as in Panavision/Cinemacope (very widescreen), and is presented on the disc optimised for a widescreen display.....
