You may have a preference of what your favourite marquees are but the most important thing to remember is, what happens on stage 8 times a week

That Wicked marquee is actually from the Chicago production. In New York, the Gershwin doesn't have much of a marquee. Just this:

Unfortunately no space there to even attempt something like they have at the Apollo Victoria.

I've never gotten why Nederlander or the producers of Wicked have tried making the Gershwin marquee stand out a bit more, not that the show needs it but I wonder if that fact that the Circle in the Square Theatre is in the building prevents from making alterations.

The Minskoff despite looking quite bland on the outisde as a theatre does have a nice marquee and entrance.

Thanks for that I thought the Wicked one looked strange, but hard to get a decent photo off Goggle images. I couldn't get a decent one of Shrek both in London and New York. I wanted to post a photo of Me and My Girl at the Adelphi and Marquis but couldn't get the later.

Jonwo, thanks I chose the New Amsterdam deliberately as it was a better photo, however the composition for it is crap though, I didn't want to be accused of picking the best photo for London and the worst one for New York, where I endeavored to pick the best for both.

To compile this one post took me well over an hour, then I had to go back and re-edit as some images were too big and make the page layout horrible.

....man - the theatres on broadway are bland and ugly. They all look like multi-storey car parks!

The only London façade I find to be BWay-esque is The Savoy.

Well done 06s091 couldn't find a image of Aspects Of Love at the Prince of Wales on Goggle images, particularly wanted to post that one as it was the first West End show officially I went to, Sootie unofficially but we don't talk about that do we?

Strange, I found that one on Google images.
I had a much harder time finding the one from Broadway. I found that one on a Michael Ball forum :)

For most of the shows I prefer the West End marquees, but I have to say that I LOVE the Broadway one for Ghost. :)

One of my favorites were this one from Passion at The Queen's Theatre:
Marquee comparison West End/ Broadway

But I can't find any pictures of the Broadway marquee for Passion at The Plymouth Theatre.

I LOVE this Grease marquee with the whole theatre decorated. That's awesome. How did they do that? It's not actually painted is it?!?

This is indeed a great honour, having the great Amaxie drop in.

Maybe I couldn't find what I was looking for, because I was using Goggle Chrome, I know something whatever I put in the search options, I would get hundreds of photos of what I was not looking for.

I tried searching for Sweeney Todd at the Trafalgar Studios and the Uris (Gershwin) theater, but couldn't find anything, likewise I tried searching for passion too and a lot of other shows.

The West End Marquees are far better but i have to say i love the Ghost one on Broadway and also the Footloose one (even though i hate the design of the logo) is more eye catching but thats because you cant do much with the Novello.

Namo i love u but we get it already....you don't like Madonna

my favourite Broadway marquee is the Shubert Theatre as it stands out and you can be creative with it. The New Amsterdam is nice but I think like the Palace they've split the billboard but luckily the New Amsterdam does stand out on 42nd Street so you don't miss it.
