Sorry to start one of these threads, but planning on seeing Merrily next Feb. Having never been to city center, where should I sit?

Stalls, Grand Tier, Mezz any input would be great

Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist. Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino. This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more. Tazber's: Reply to Is Stephen Schwartz a Practicing Christian

I sat at the extreme sides front row of the Grand Tier and it still did feel a little far away (i.e. I wouldn't have really wanted to sit further back) and the view was unfortunately quite obstructed occasionally...I wish I could have sat in the front orchestra but of course getting tickets for Encores! is ridiculous. Now that MERRILY have extra tickets available if you can get front orchestra center I imagine they will be the best seats.

"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022) "Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009) "Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000

The seating has been redone at City Center so upstairs is supposedly much better now for sight lines. But I prefer downstairs. Now though I may check out upstairs for dance.

I'm interested in Fiorello and the $24 discount ticket. So balcony left would be obstructed?

I sat second row upstairs about 10 seats in for Merrily. The view was fine but I wouldn't sit much further in since there is no center aisle. God forbid you have to leave or go to the bathroom in the middle of the performance. From what I remember, it was a bit tight getting by people also.

Just give the world Love.
