I would definitely agree with the suggestion of Priscilla. It currently still has the original cast - with the amazing tony nominated Tony Sheldon! It's a really fun show with beautiful costumes, an interesting set piece (don't want to ruin the surprise), and a sweet story. I think it is definitely something to see on a Broadway stage as I expect that it might be scaled down for tours.

So, that was the Drowsy Chaperone. Oh, I love it so much. I know it's not a perfect show...but it does what a musical is supposed to do. It takes you to another world, and it gives you a little tune to carry with you in your head for when you're feeling blue. Ya know?

LOL. It "still" has the obc? It's only been open for a few months, of course it does. (But isn't Nick out on medical --- or has he come back already?)

Fuezabruta plays on Monday nights off b'way. It's a great multisensory piece of performance art -- but not the stuffy, esoteric sort. It's alive, energetic and so much fun!

(Hair plays on Mondays, too.)

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Only 6 Broadway shows are not dark on Monday:
Chicago, Hair, Mamma Mia! (why?), Phantom, Priscilla, Rock of Ages.

Off-Broadway you can see the revival of "RENT", 'Avenue Q" and "Million Dollar Quartet" all at New World Stages. They also do Songs at New World in the lounge starting around 10:00-10:30.

Yes. Sleep No More, if it isn't sold out..

"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022) "Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009) "Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000

Maybe you have seen the shows I listed when they were on Broadway. I second the Fuerzabruta suggestion. A very fun show.

I second Sleep No More. One of a kind experience that you'll be proselytizing about for weeks afterward. (Just check out the Sleep No More is Amazing thread for a taste of what's in store-- but don't read too much or you'll lose the chance for shock and wonder of exploring the unknown.) Two different Mondays this spring/summer were made fantastic by visits there.
