Re Jordan's first show, I for one am very disappointed to work out that his first broadway show was.... Beauty and the Beast!?!? Really!?!?

Assuming he was born some time in the 80's that makes him waaaaay too young to have such magnetic pull on the course of conversation on these boards. (Although it gives him all the right in the world to weigh in on his taste in men.)

Here's to more bitchy old queens like me dominating the threads for a while.

Yeah that was the first show I saw on Broadway. It was 1995 and I was 17 years old on a high school drama trip from down south. I was born in 1978 and don't see anything wrong with having "such magnetic pull on the course of conversation on these boards". I don't even think I fully know what that means...

I normally stay out of this stuff, but I'm chiming in here:

charlesjguiteau, who the hell do you think you are? It doesn't matter when someone is born as to what amount of pull they have. Some of us are pretty damn smart about things and can steer a conversation appropriately.

Granted, I shouldn't be surprised, anyone who calls themselves a "bitchy old queen" is bound to lead a truly miserable existence and should probably get themselves a life.

It don't know why but it comes as a surprise that Jordan is only a year older than me

I am a retired special education teacher of high school students, aged 69. I have loved the theatre ever since my aunt took me to see FLAHOOLEY with Barbara Cook in Philadelphia in 1950 , I believe. My first Broadway show was the Mary Martin PETER PAN in 1954 at the Winter Garden. I have seen all Broadway productions of GYPSY multiple times. The greatest was the first, with the unstoppable Ethel Merman. The last show I saw was in April: HOW TO SUCCEED...which I thoroughly enjoyed, especially John Larroquette.

That makes you five years younger than me, Eris. I always thought you were younger.(but not with any negative connotations. I just thought you were early 20s)

What a wonderful introduction!

Jordan is only 4 years younger than me? I thought he was younger.

And YES...I tried to pick him out of the crowd at Chelsea Clearview when my friends and I saw Company the other night.

Wait - Robbie and I are the same age? That can't be right. How is one of us so well-preserved and the other not? It don't seem right!

Really sorry to piss folks off. My last post could have been worded alot more sensitively than it was. Accept my apologies.

Everyone has every right to post whatever they want on here of course, young, old, anywhere in between. That's what makes this forum great. We all just make assumptions about who people are based on the scribblings of their various posts. Half the time I'm surprised to check someone's personal page to discover folks I thought were guys turn out to be girls and vice versa. Similarly, I was imagining a veteran of these boards like Jordan to be a veteran in real life. So his real age came as a surprise.

Thank g-d he, you and everyone else younger than me who writes in these boards is as in love with theater as I am. And that's the real point, isn't it?

I recall a time, many years ago, when I was meeting BroadwayBoobs at a show.

Without thinking, I called out: "Boobs!"

Imagine the looks I received.

The might be from the days when I had a picture of myself as my avatar. Most people mistake me for being in my early 20's. Heck, shortly after I turned 30 someone told me they thought I was 19.
