I was at the final performance last night...my two cents.

I've seen the show more than any other show, mainly due to the student rush tickets they had at the Los Angeles Ahmanson Theatre (I guess now called First National Tour.)

Show was good, but I was reminded how much better the show is in Las Vegas. The filler scenes when they are changing sets behind the curtain aren't missed, and the Vegas chandelier is worth the ticket price alone.

Cast was good. Audience was in a great mood as soon as they started the cell phone announcement with "Welcome to the 7284th performance....."

I'm sure someone else has posted, but I didn't see it.

After the bows, the actor playing the Phantom spoke. Lots of applause. There were lots of former company members in the Orchestra. At the end he introduced Andrew Lloyd Webber who got a huge applause. Andrew said a few words and then introduced Sarah Brightman who got a huge applause too, but didn't speak.

All in all, a fun evening and great way to spend Halloween.

Only downer, my invitation from Cameron to the After Party seemed to have gotten lost in the mail. :)

I wonder if Lloyd Webber watched the show. There are some elements in it that might be of some use when he re-tools "Love Never Dies", such as the character of the Phantom.

According to a young woman who was at the performance, he slipped in as the lights dimmed and was quietly "sneaked" out at the end of the first act.

--Too bad he couldn't have watched the end, you know, the part where the Phantom sings, "It's over now, the music of the night."

Ehhhhh, he knows the scene, he just doesn't care.
The story continues.
