Sherie will probably be tied up with Women on the Verge, unless it shutters quickly, though I hope it doesn't. Rachel York or Carolee Carmello would be great. I'll get creamed for this, but Idina would probably be wonderful and I'm not saying that because she played the green girl. I actually think she has wonderful comedic instincts and to me, she just has the right look for the part.

i worked with rachel resheff in a broadway show and a workshop.
very very talented 9 year old and a pleasure to work with. she would be an outstanding olive, but i think she might be busy with her third show. these boards are meant for positive dialogue. i have been approached to do the La Joya run. I would be thrilled if she were aboard.

La Joya? Oh brother...

I hope Raul is not cast. I don't think he's right.

"I just meant that in the screenplay, it's clear that Olive needed to have "a stomach." Her dad commenting on her getting ice cream at a restaurant, and a few other lines were in the screenplay commenting on her weight. But not having been at the workshop or read the musical's book I have no clue of that's as much of a necessity for the stage show.

(and I was thinking of Leah Greenhaus)."

Right, I forgot about those lines...I've only seen it once.

And thanks for clearing that up about Leah.

I saw the Sundance workshop performance and it was pretty fantastic as is. There still wasn't a great solo number for Sherrie to sing but Bill Finn was spending the latter of the two weeks of the workshop working on a number for her, i just don't think they had enough to time to put it in before the presentation. The van bits were/are hilarious and Lapine is doing a great job. And Latessa, who is pushing 183 is absolutely Divine! I don't remember who played the Uncle but he was fantastic as well. and the son character was played by an "unknown" person too. All in all, if they keep the same cast in tact I know it will be spectacular, and if changes, the material is still fantastic!

Very excited about this! LMS is very similar to Falsettos in character dynamics and tone, but different enough that Finn/Lapine are not repeating themselves. Carolee Carmello would be great! I love her song "All Fall Down" from Finn's Romance in Hard Times and it would be great for her to get another amazing song out of him.

With Irma you gotta do something!
