Top Ten Greatest Composers of Musical Theater  Apr 5 2014, 10:28:56 PM
OMGlob, I can't believe I left off Loesser! Boy, this thread takes me back. Revised list, composers only:

Finn is next for Romance in Hard Times alone. Berlin after.

Susan Johnson  Mar 23 2014, 12:12:29 AM
Listening to her and loving her in Whoop-Up! and Most Happy Fella. Gay as a daisy patch in May. Anyone else love Ms. Johnson?

It's so earnest in a way you don't see anymore.

Patti LuPone As A Ghost in Long Lost Musical Set In A Laundromat (1984)  Jan 16 2014, 07:59:25 PM
Agreed sephyr. The last lines LuPone and Vidnovic share are kind of a genius little twist, and his dryness contrasts nicely with her histrionics

I think a Love Cycle reunion is in order.

I can't get "Round and Round" out of my head!

Also, I think LuPone's interpretation of the character is spot on. She knows what she's doing. I love Vidnovic's approach too.

Holy Ellen Foley! It's an absurdist delight! I enjoyed it so much.

1971 OBC  Jan 9 2014, 12:39:08 PM
bk's Promises, Promises and Sugar remasters are great, with Promises being particularly spectacular. I remember the first time I heard the Promises remaster and just being completely blown away.

Christian Bale is doing the Little Me movie, not Encores!

Joe Allen Makes Statement on SPIDER-MAN Appearance on Flop Wall  Jan 1 2014, 05:32:16 PM
I think Spider-Man is a level of flop that the usual flop collectors don't want to own it. It doesn't even have an official cast album!

I'm giving away a Fosse Biography-Merry Christmas!  Dec 24 2013, 09:42:36 AM
This is neat!

I remember seeing a local production of Kiss Me Kate when I was a kid and felt an energy and sophistication that I hadn't felt in other community theater! It was my first great musical!

Song of Spider-Man Movie?  Dec 21 2013, 07:00:53 PM
I think Kristen Wiig would be best. =)
