Hola ya'lls.

So I was wondering if New York City Center has a stagedoor?

Ok so that question is ridiculous. Of course they do.

Allow me to rephrase.

Can you meet the actors at stagedoor after performances at the City Center? I'm going to Anyone Can Whistle on April 11th...and it'd be stinking amazing if I could meet Sutton and Raul...

Just a-wondering!
Thanks!

On the other side of the building. Usually you can go through the passageway when you exit the theater to the right.

I've gotten kind of lost looking for it in the past, so you'd be best off asking one of the ushers to point you in the right direction.

Follow the sound of screeching Sutton Foster and Raul Esparza fans.

Ask a usher, it's like a maze getting to the stage door, but I did get to meet Ashanti after The Wiz.

One thing to consider is that the Sunday, April 11th show is the last one, and I think there is a cast party directly after, within City Center, so it is difficult to know when they will come out.

Has anyone stagedoored previous Encores! productions after the Sunday performance? Was it a good or bad experience?

Yah, I thought about that. I figured though it's worth a shot at least. Like...I won't be devastated if they don't, because it's totally understandable. Again, just thought I'd give it a shot.

Obviously DONNA MURPHY is the stage door highlight, not Raul. I might faint when I see this woman for the first time!!!!!

I have been wondering what I should say to her, and I think I've finally got it:

"I can be nearby, I can be there quietly waiting. They hear drums, we hear music. This is why I live, you are why I live. I will live and I will die, for you. Shall we dance?"

"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022) "Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009) "Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
