I understand this is old news, but I don't remember ever reading about the outcome of the intended lawsuit against TOTS. AMTSJ was forced to close and no one took over the theatre? Is it just an empty building now? Demolished?

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

..and regarding the theater that Capn inquired about, AMT (and now Broadway San Jose) put up their shows in the San Jose Center for the Performing Arts which also houses Ballet San Jose, and tons of other groups and major events. So it wasn't really in jeopardy of being demolished or anything since it didn't really exist solely for AMTSJ.

I am interested to hear what's happened with the legal case though. I'm so glad we have Broadway San Jose bringing the national tours back to our area, but we don't have our major rehional theater anymore. Anyway, if anyone does have any news, I'd love to hear.

Found this message via google, and am also wondering if anybody has heard anything in the past two years? The demise of AMT remains such sore issue with me, and IMO, TOTS should definitely be held accountable for their actions.
