reviews for the princess and the frog

it seems pretty mixed so far, but it seems most are excited for
disney's return to 2d.

Nytimes review:

"Gorgeously animated with bursts of bright purple and acid green  the realistic lines of the characters explosively give way to increasingly jagged, graphic and surreal shapes  this number erupts early in the story, setting false expectations for the rest of the movie and its songs and animation. Despite some ensuing comic relief, largely in the hefty form of a musical alligator, Louis (Michael-Leon Wooley), and a snaggletoothed Cajun firefly, Ray (Jim Cummings), the film sags without Dr. Facilier and his menace"

89% fresh on RottenTomatoes so far with eight reviews.

(I think this should really be on the off-topic board...)

I've read about 15 different reviews and only 2 were mixed. None were negative. Some were absolutely glowing.

89% on RT is really good! When I checked a few hours ago, there were only 6 reviews, so it was 83%. Little Mermaid has a 90% rating.

SO excited for this movie.

So far metacritic (which only uses the major reviews) is much more mixed, with a 65% http://www.metacritic.com/film/titles/princessandthefrog
