Prayers to his family and the cast and crew of Illinoise. Tonight's performance is going to be so difficult to get through.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

I thought this was incredible. I’m not sure if it’s because Sufjan and this album mean so much to me, and so to see them presented this way with these arrangements was emotionally overwhelming. The Predatory Wasp is one of my favorite songs of all time and I was pretty much just weeping by the end of it. And when I saw Shara was there, I had no idea she was in the show. Just great all around

Such sad news for the company :( I hope they can get through their run and deal with their grief.

Having seen the show, it definitely pushes some emotional buttons very effectively in ways I wasn't prepared for. I loved it. I was really, really impressed by the choreography and staging.

It may not be a traditional Broadway Musical, but I'm so glad it was nominated for Best Musical and hope it has a really long run. I think a lot of people will enjoy this piece. And I'm not usually a jukebox musical fan, which this sort-of is.

Pretty shocked some people didn't get into it. It's very engaging.

Why is it ending in a few weeks? Was the theater booked for something else?

”I can’t believe how they handled this”

”What sacks of s**t”

”I guess I’ll cut them some slack”.

They used the word TRAGEDY, for god’s sake, and not lightly. They’re talking about a sudden dramatic death of someone who was a part of their show’s family and some people are acting like they know better how the news should have been announced, how all the various parties involved should have been told, and in what order everythingshould be done.

Tragedy doesn’t come with a PowerPoint, and death doesn’t come with a checklist. I don’t care if I get banned (though I can’t imagine why) and thisis the final post I ever make here, but if everyone knew the circumstances (and I only know the general outline of it) I promise that even thoseof you who posted those things would be ashamed of yourselves. I hope that none of you ever have to deal with a sudden tragic loss, but if you ever do, and if you don’t handle everything the exact proper way that everyone else wants you to handle it (which is impossible), I hope they ‘cut you some slack’.
"

If you're going to call somebody out, at least you can quote them correctly. The second poster didn't say "I guess I’ll cut them some slack”. They said "I’ll cutthem some slack." As in, they'll be less judgmental and more forgiving given the circumstances than the first poster, accepting that people are just doing the best they can...which seems to be the exact same thing you're calling for. So why are you dragging them into your fit?
"

Thank you!! Idk why Kimbo went after me, we were making the same point.

It's running until Aug. 10. Sunset Blvd has the theater booked for the Fall.

I've heard to avoid the far left orchestra because you can't see the billboard.

How about far orchestra right? Or am I better off in the mezzanine?

I'd suggest the mezzanine. I sat far right in the orchestra and missed anything that happened up on the second floor/level.

I didn't get into it.  I have never been a fan of these types of shows.

Mezz is fine...but you still have to avoid the extreme sides.  The speakers set up still block vision of one side or another. (I was in in house left, 2nd row of mezz and couldn't see the billboard.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Thanks all, sounds like it's best to stay in the center.

Any downside to using TodayTix and the pick your seats feature? It appears to be a discount of around 20%.

Saw this last night. While I am not necessarily a fan of modern dance, I've been a Sufjan Stevens fan for years. My god. I started crying early on and pretty much didn't stop. What a stunning piece of theatre. We're lucky to have this on Broadway even if just for a short while.

Want to pass on seating advice for the St. James, but I've only ever been in the balcony & mezzanine.  Lower mezz was a good view, but the lack of legroom nearly killed me so find it hard to recommend.   How does the view from the rear orchestra compare?  Or does the Mezzanine overhang cut off too much?
