Seeing Come From Away on its first night back. I decided a year ago I wanted to be back for it. I've never seen it on Broadway, but I saw the tour 4 times and it's just become so special to me. The timing is absolutely awful work-wise, so I'm flying up 9/21 AM and leaving 9/22 PM. I also have tickets for the 9/22 matinee of CFA, but might return those and go to the Little Shop matinee (depending on casting). Or if Hadestown is open by then and happens to have a matinee that day I'll try for that (seems unlikely though).
I have Music Man tickets for late January, so I'll be back for sure then, but I'm also toying with the idea of a late Oct/early Nov trip to see some other shows.

Hey duffny1, thanks sooooo much for the heads up! I've been waiting for an announcement, which has yet to be made, so never would have known otherwise.
I was able to snag RIGHT ORCHESTRA Row D for Saturday night 12/11 and RIGHT MEZZANINE Row A for Sunday 12/12 matinee. One thing I noticed is that Row A and B of the orchestra are not showing at all. I'm wondering if they are going to be empty as part of the safety protocol?
Really, really looking forward to hearing who will be playing Evan. And hoping to see the understudy at the matinee so I can see two different Evans.
I wasn't sure if/when I would be ready for a NYC trip, but reading everyone's comments today got me so excited. And so, being the DEH fanatic that I am, and seeing that DEH had a re-opening date, I just HAD to do it. My last trip was actually in late December 2019 seeing ABF in DEH and it was amazing. Crazy to think the world was about to be shutdown just weeks later.
And two years later so excited that I'll be there for the re-opening! Can't wait for those first two lines: "Dear Evan Hansen, today's going to be a good day and here's why." BECAUSE LIVE THEATER IS BACK!!!!
P.S. This is my very first post here. I've been lurking for about 10 years....figured it was finally time to step into the sun :)
Total DEH fanatic and love to chat with similarly obsessed fans. Please feel free to PM me. In times like these, we could all use a friend.
I had hoped to be at Wicked's first night back, but alas I was under the impression that tickets would go on sale at 10am, not 7am. I was able to secure a front mezzanine seat for 9/15 and will definitely be keeping an eye out for anything to open up for the grand return to Oz. However, I'm just excited to be able to go the first week as I have missed Wicked over the last year very much.
Similar to Wicked, I was unable to get a ticket to first preview of Six (during the pre-sale or general on sale), so I opted during the pre-sale for final preview [10/2] to make sure I had a ticket before they went on sale to the general public. I got a side orchestra seat toward the front and I'm really excited to see the show on Broadway having seen it (and loved it) at ART almost three years ago.
Mrs. Doubtfire was my final show before the shutdown (I was at their final preview pre-shutdown on March 11th) and when I found out the show had announced a return date and tickets were on sale, I jumped and bought a front row orchestra seat for first preview [10/21] and it'll be fun to have a nice full circle moment of last show pre-shutdown and being there for the first show back.
After the Wicked debacle this morning, I went to check Dear Evan Hansen out of anxiety/curiosity and was shocked to see tickets on sale for 12/11 and bought a partial view orchestra seat right away. I've been awaiting a return announcement and this was one of the shows I simply had to be at the first show back. I was toying with buying a ticket for the 12/12 matinee for a similar reason to DEHFanatic as I would assume it'll be Zach Piser's first show back and Zach is such a wonderful Evan, but I'm holding out on casting first.
The four shows I got tickets to were my must buys and I'm considering some others in the future (Aladdin, Ain't Too Proud, and Little Shop among others) but I got my top 4 locked down and I'm really happy and excited.
"Anybody that goes to the theater, I think we’re all misfits, so we ended up on stage or in the audience.” --- Patti LuPone.
I am very excited to get back into a theatre but my days off don't line up well with any of the first performance dates. Until shows return to mid week afternoon performances, the only time I will be able to attend a show without needing to make it a 6 month in advance choice will be Wednesday evenings. So it KILLS me that that is one of Six's off nights. Then again, I don't go into New York from December - February anyway since I can't stand the cold SOOO looks like I might not get back to a show until sometime in the spring. April at the latest as that is when my Music Man tickets were moved to.
Trying REALLY hard to see something, anything, on this ONE Saturday I have off in November (requested it for a out of state event but plans changed and have that date free now) Just because I crave it. And should anything announce a reopen date on a Wednesday, I will jump on it.
