Enjoying the season which I’m finally caught up on. "
Rule is you can’t if it’s the same voting cycle, ie a reward challenge then an immunity. If it’s a different episode they clearly don’t seem to care.
But man, rough week, wish this was on tonight! Been re watching some older seasons too, anyone remember Yau Man?! Such a delight to watch in a time like this. Season 14 isn’t the best but he and a few other castaways are great.
Ya, sad evening. I totally get Sandra’s ideology. She’ll never win the challenges, even if she dies she’s likely to be voted out again, she’s got truly nothing else to prove on Survivor, I get it. No need to put herself through that. Sad, though. That was likely the last time we ever see her on Survivor.
Also sad about Yul, very depressing even lol. But hey, TONY MADE THE FLIPPING MERGE!!!!
I was so sad when Sandra was voted out but also her decision to dip the second she got to Redemption was the most Sandra thing that Sandra could do. I hate that Rob has all those tokens now which means he’ll probably be back in the game because I’m really ready to ever see Rob on the show ever again. Still rooting for my girl Natalie to get back in and win it.
Its funny, season 22 was Survivor: Redemption Island. It was Rob and Russell Hantz heading 2 tribes of all new players. Obviously it included Redemption Island, and it was obvious that was for Rob. Russell was never a challenge threat/beast, so I don't believe they cared about him. Rob is much more versatile and strong when it comes to challenges, we all know Probsts favorite is Rob, so in my eyes (and I don't think its too speculatory), Redemption Island was created solely for Boston Rob.
I think the same thing with Edge of Extinction. Most of the players this season have been open in pregame press and on social media about hating the Edge, hell we even saw Sandra quit because of how stupid and useless it is. Probst said "All the winners wouldn't come back without a second chance available" and based on what we're hearing from other contestants, thats BS. Sounds to me like Rob and Amber wanted it and no one else. The twist is good for people who are strong at challenges like Natalie, Rob, and Tyson. Parvati too. I just hate that I feel we have this twist SOLELY because of Boston Rob. Ugh, hope he doesn't get back for that reason.
I have legit no idea when they’ll do the finale, and filming for the next cycle is currently postponed so very very likely no Survivor this fall
SPOILERS FOR MERGE EPISODE AND EDGE RETURNEE BELOW
BUT, very happy if anybody had to come back it’s Tyson. He may be the best character ever on this show. Had shown huge growth and maturity over his 4 seasons, is utterly hysterical (the “Survivor diapers” line had me in stitches), and is an great strategist and competition threat. I’m not sure what else you could ask of a Survivor contestant. I don’t want him to win as I hate the idea of anybody being voted out winning but I hope he goes far.
Talk about anticlimactic end to the Michele and Wendell storyline. I was ready for Michele to slay the living hell out of him. Not my favorite episode as I don’t think the editors made it make much sense.
Still, Tony and Kim seem to be in great positions so I am beyond thrilled. And can we all please finally classify Sophie as a LEGEND??? Girl is killing it and has the best read on the game and no one is thinking about her. Michele or Sophie are my picks right now, I don’t think these people are dumb enough to let Tony or Kim get anywhere near the finals.
As someone who watches mainly for strategy, the loved one episode while LOVELY, left me wanting more. That tribal was so chaotic I was lost, I love chaos and being overwhelmed but being lost in the dark was a tad frustrating.
However, Tony singlehandedly made up for this himself. Increidble freaking episode from him. Whether or not you like him, I do, you can not deny he is the most skilled Survivor out there. So creative and fun! I’m worried that Sarah and Kim will take him out next. Which, could be worse as I love the two of them as well.
It’s wonderful still having some sort of set schedule everyone Wednesday’s at 8:00, really liking the season! Rooting hard for Tony and Kim
I’d love to see Survivor go back to the days before Redemption/EOE Islands, tokens, hidden idols - it’s become a game of gimmicks.
I love this show and have never missed an episode, but would love to revisit days of challenges being the primary focus, required participation (not allowing the same person to sit them out) and fewer hidden protections, extortions, idols planted by production after every tribal council, and so on. It would be a great “twist” because players come on the show now expecting all of those things so to arrive and find out it’s back to the beginning would be interesting.
