Pretty sure he means....no, i dont know what he neans by that.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

I’m a Berkeley Rep subscriber and I got this email yesterday -
Berkeley Rep invites you to an exciting preview of the 2019-20 season with our incoming Artistic Director Johanna Pfaelzer.
“Join us on April 11 at 7pm in our Roda Theatre to meet Johanna and hear about her plans for her inaugural season. While the actual plays are still a secret (we expect to announce at the beginning of April), you can expect a dynamic mix of both new plays and musicals that reflect the world we live in and that demand to be seen here in the Bay Area right now.”
I’ve got my fingers crossed that this might include an announcement of the December production mentioned above.

Four of Berkeley Rep's new shows got announced today, with three "new plays" to be announced. On one hand, there's still nothing for December 2020, meaning Moby Dick is a possibility. On the other, the announcement says "new plays." Crossing my fingers that Moby Dick will still be part of the new season!
I guess my theory about the musical opening at the Berkeley Rep turned out to be wishful thinking by this San Francisco Bay Area resident. All of the pieces seemed to fit, but I guess it will go from ART to the Public.

That’s where I thought it was going too"
Is it possible it would make a stop after ART at Berkeley Rep? I thought I had heard that Berkeley Rep was a co-producer - not sure if that means anything.
The Berkeley Rep has 3 holes in their schedule, which is odd. They announced only 4 shows, 3 plays and a summer musical earlier this month in what is normally a 7-show season. I had assumed (well, hoped) that Moby Dick would fill the December/January vacancy. It's possible the show could go to Berkeley after ART, but that presumably would postpone a New York City debut until the fall.
