with the cheapest ticket being $125, I doubt this will be a success.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

If anyone is interested, BroadwayBox.com has a discount code, which I used to buy general admission tickets (I'm not sure what that is) for $59 each. There are fees, too, of course, but I figure it's a pretty good deal. Some evening shows are excluded. I'm excited to be seeing it this weekend! Dinner is not included with the ticket I purchased.

I wish Off Broadway would scrap their Wednesday matinee and split it instead between Tuesday and Thursday, so I could see more theatre when I visit New York.

I see they quietly cancelled the first 3 days of previews (today, tomorrow & Thursday), per telecharge.com.

I gather that the tent wasn't ready.

Agree that they did not cancel the first three nights of shows quietly as they put out press releases announcing it. The reason was that the tent/theater was not ready in time to open. The cast has tech rehearsal now on Thursday.

To the person who said they doubt it will be successful due to the lowest ticket price being $125.....I don't agree at all. First of all, there are discount tix available on BroadwayBox. I don't know if they are doing this again, but when it was in production over the summer, they ran rush tickets. Further, the ticket prices are the same as before when it was Off Broadway in the meatpacking district and it was hugely successful....thus the move to the theater district, as well as the possibility of it going to Broadway still.

How much was it downtown? It's already a "thing" so I think the ticket price is pointless. If people want to see it, they'll see it. But now they're in Midtown so they need to advertise.

The regular ticket price in Midtown is the same as it was when the show was downtown.

Admittedly, I missed the show in its previous incarnations, but have the utmost of intention of seeing this forthcoming mounting.

From what I understand, the $125 pricetag seems absolutely worth it. Should one have the money to spend. You get a 2.5 hour musical: In an immersive, environmental setting, WITH an authentic meal in-tact! How is that not a wonderful night out?

Suffice it to say, this seems like my kinda show, and I'm BEYOND excited at the prospect of booking and "experiencing it" myself.

I know it's very early to predict, but does anybody know if they will be able to extend if there is demand? I'm not in NYC until January!

I believe the possibility exists for it to extend at its present location (Kazino on 45th) beyond Dec. 31. As well, I believe there is a chance it could still transfer to a Broadway house.

"You get a 2.5 hour musical: In an immersive, environmental setting, WITH an authentic meal in-tact! How is that not a wonderful night out?"

While I really enjoyed the show, the meal was neither authentic nor very good (it was edible, but that's about it). And from what I understand, they are planning to serve even less when they transfer. IMO they should do away with the meal altogether. It adds nothing to the show.

Mentioned this earlier in the thread, but it’s hard for me to understand all of the fuss about the cost of this. I understand the fuss about how much ticket prices are in general, but singling this show out for its prices seems odd to me. As I said before, $125 is pretty on par with most full-price Broadway musical ticket prices these days and, while it may not have the “Broadway” label, for me, the quality is just as good, if not better, as most of the musicals currently running on Broadway.

The food was fine, nothing special, but I don’t even think about it as part of the price of the ticket – to me, it was just an added bonus to have a little something extra to snack on. When they announced this transfer and the fact that the meal would turn into more just appetizers, I remember reading one of the producers saying that most people they surveyed said they would still have paid $125, even without the meal. (I definitely fall into that category.)

I think it will do well in this transfer – as it’s been said, they were successful in their past runs with these prices. And, if it’s saying anything, I saw the show this summer and, when it was announced that it would be opening again, I immediately got tickets to see it again for my weekend trip in October. I try not to see shows in NYC that I have seen before, but, for me, it was no question that I wanted to experience this show again (with this talented cast!), even if it meant paying $125 and taking up one of my few precious theatre-going slots.

I saw the show at Kazimo and loved it. I thought the meal and drinks added to the whole immersive experience, but I'd be just as happy with drinks and appetizers - maybe even more so, since it's less to keep track of/pass around while enjoying the show (although we did do most of our eating either before the show or during intermission, which was 30 minutes - but some folks who sat at our banquette and arrived closer to show time ate more while the show was going on.)

For us the best food/drink parts were the little vodka shots, the borscht shots, the pierogis and the little brown bread rolls. The rest of the food was as the person above described - edible, but not memorable, and not particularly "Russian".

I can see people who aren't familiar with the show wondering why they should pay $125 to sit in a "tent," but it didn't feel like a tent at all once we were in. It was more like being in the middle of a stage set. Just very cool. Even the bathrooms were nice, and I guess they were actually just very high-class port-a-pottys NATASHA, PIERRE AND THE GREAT COMET to Move to Tent on 45th

Thanks for the comments! I'm seeing this on Saturday, and can't wait! I have general admission ($59) seats. What time should we get there to start lining up? I would like to get decent seats if possible. The show is at 2:30. I realize this is very speculative, because the location is so new.

I'm not sure how they're handling the seating at this venue. Our tickets at Kazino (sorry about the spelling error in post above!)didn't have specific seats on them, either. The people taking tickets seemed to have worked it out ahead of time as to who was sitting where. We wound up at a banquette with 7 other people! But it wasn't like you got in and could decide where to sit yourself; they took you to a seat. Maybe this has changed...probably best to call the box office and ask. And ask when they will start letting people in, because it's easier to order drinks and whatever other food is on offer before the serving people get too harassed. Have a great time!

You don't get to pick where you sit. I saw the show twice at Kazino this summer and in very different spots each time. There really is not a bad seat in the house because the performance is going on ALL around you in every direction and it is not that large of a space in the first place. The perspective is just slightly different depending where you are sitting. I am quite certain the set up of the space in Midtown will be just like it was before. In fact, they are still putting the finishing touches on it and the first time the cast will get to rehearse in the new theater will be its dress rehearsal tomorrow (day of opening!) So, obviously the set up must be identical to its original incarnation.

I don't know with the meal changes if arrival needs to be any different than before, but in its old space, you should have arrived a half hour before showtime.

Setting aside for a moment whatever one might think of the show, the transfer, or the price, I just gotta hand it to them for promising not to serve Russian vodka until LGBT rights in Russia are assured. I got a email from them stating this.

Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812, which reopens tomorrow night in the theater district, will be supporting Russia's LGBT community by donating proceeds from tomorrow night's first performance and the big after party to Human Rights Watch. The party starting at 11:00 PM is free and open to the public. There will be a la carte Russian food and drinks and live entertainment until the early morning hours. http://www.theatermania.com/new-york-city-theater/news/09-2013/off-broadways-natasha-pierre-and-the-great-comet-o_66141.html

This is the one show I want to see next week that will be forced to see on my own.. is there seating that accommodates that? Has anyone been to see this solo and can comment?

I love seeing theatre solo and have no inhibition about it but this sounds more like interactive cabaret which can have a different vibe entirely.
