The first thing that popped into my head was "Your Song" by Elton John -- certainly individualism and nature are prominent themes, not so sure about 'supernatural' but the words have always struck me as a prayer of sorts...

It's a little bit funny this feeling inside I'm not one of those who can easily hide I don't have much money but boy if I did I'd buy a big house where we both could live
If I was a sculptor, but then again, no Or a man who makes potions in a travelling show I know it's not much but it's the best I can do My gift is my song and this one's for you
And you can tell everybody this is your song It may be quite simple but now that it's done I hope you don't mind I hope you don't mind that I put down in words How wonderful life is while you're in the world
I sat on the roof and kicked off the moss Well a few of the verses well they've got me quite cross But the sun's been quite kind while I wrote this song It's for people like you that keep it turned on
So excuse me forgetting but these things I do You see I've forgotten if they're green or they're blue Anyway the thing is what I really mean Yours are the sweetest eyes I've ever seen
"I'm a one-eyed Mormon Democrat from conservative Arizona, and you can't have a higher handicap than that."
~The ever-great and fabulous Morris K. Udall.
Who kicked a hole in the sky so the heavens would cry over me? Who stole the soul from the sun in a world come undone at the seams?
Let there be love Let there be love
I hope the weather is calm as you sail up your heavenly stream Suspended clear in the sky are the words that we sing in our dreams
Let there be love Let there be love Let there be love Let there be love
Come on Baby Blue Shake up your tired eyes The world is waiting for you May all your dreaming fill the empty sky But if it makes you happy Keep on clapping Just remember I'll be by your side And if you don't let go it's gonna pass you by
Who kicked a hole in the sky so the heavens would cry over me? Who stole the soul from the sun in a world come undone at the seams?
Let there be love Let there be love

UNEXPECTED SONG by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Don Black
I have never felt like this For once I'm lost for words Your smile has really thrown me. This is not like me at all I never thought I'd know The kind of love you've shown me.
Now, no matter where I am No matter what I do I see your face appearing Like an unexpected song An unexpected song That only we are hearing
I don't know what's going on Can't work it out at all Whatever made you choose me? I just can't believe my eyes You look at me as though You couldn't bare to lose me.
Now, no matter where I am No matter what I do I see your face appearing Like an unexpected song An unexpected song That only we are hearing
I have never felt like this For once I'm lost for words Your smile has really thrown me. This is not like me at all I never thought I'd know The kind of love you've shown me.
Now no matter where I am No matter what I do I see your face appearing Like an unexpected song An unexpected song That only we are hearing Like an unexpected song An unexpected song That only we are hearing!

Another one - The Sounds of Silence - kind of like one of Poe's eerie visions and definitely a theme of individuality. Come to think of it, there's tons of classic 70's rock lyrics reflecting exactly those themes - throw in the drugs and you've got Poe as well. (Wonder if Jim Morrison was the reincarnation of Poe? Both of them would like that idea.)
Salmon leap from the womb of the white sea you look on; they are calves, they are lambs of good color, in peace without slaughter.
