You know the deal... You see a movie so powerful/brilliant/profound/unique, that you don't talk about it for the time following the film. Here's my list, and it will probably go as time goes on:

Sophie's Choice
House of Sand and Fog
Before Sunrise
Moulin Rouge
AI: Artificial Intelligence
The Hours
Donnie Darko
From Here to Eternity
The Color Purple
Terms of Endearment
Schindler's List
Romeo + Juliet (Baz Luhrmann)
Requiem for a Dream
Howards End
E.T.
Se7en (I know, I know. An odd choice.)
Talk to Her
21 Grams
Dancer in the Dark
Far From Heaven
Million Dollar Baby Updated On: 2/22/05 at 02:00 PM

Sophie's Choice and Phildalphia are the two that make me cry like a newborn.

Showgirls left me speechless...but for an altoghether different reason.

I don't recall ever seeing a film that left me speechless; although THE MIRACLE WORKER came close.

I see that you have "All About My Mother" on your list. Have you seen "Talk to Her", also by Almodovar?

The Hiding Place - we went with our church youth group in junior high school. I've perhaps never been so disturbed.
