I heard a rumor he is leaving TWS soon to be part of this movie. Anyone knows?

As much as I would love to see Spencer in the Hairspray movie, I just can't BARE to see him leave Wedding Singer. He is literally my favorite person in the cast! Maybe he could take a short hiatus, but then come back. The bride/groom dance in the opening number just wouldn't be the same without him!
Thanks for clearing that up. bjh, he is a very energetic dancer, but im sure they will find someone as good, and maybe as cute! he is one of my favorite people in the show, but really ...i love everyone in it.

"Zac is sweet as can be. He's very much just a sweet kid from California who happens to have a face that looks like it was drawn by Michelangelo, (if Michelangelo did anime)." -Adam Shankman.
"I haven't left this building since Windows 3.1!"
"Celebrating a birthday this week: Rene Descartes is 412! Do you know who he is? Then why are you watching this show? You could probably get into college and even get one of those job things. As for the rest of us; Amanda Bynes is 22! Yay!" -E!'s "The Soup"
I would love to see him in the Hairspray movie! I got a crush on him after seeing Wedding Singer in Seattle. I missed my chance to meet him at the opening party. Been kicking myself ever since. What a cutie.
Spencer is one of the finest (talent-wise and looks-wise - hah!) members of TWS's cast. Watching him is such a treat. He'll definately be missed, but I'm so glad he's got this opportunity.
Munk, the show has been doing pretty well lately. The last few performances I've been at have been almost completely sold out. Laura and a friend of mine also said that every now and then some weeknight performances have been sold out as well. As much as I love the show, I don't know how long it will be around. I'd bet it lasts through Christmas. Maybe Thanksgiving?

Spencer is fantastic -- honestly, one of the most energetic, spirited, fun, talented dancers I've seen. I constantly rewind and watch the Bride/Groom dance on my TiVo from the Tony Awards, even though it's cut grossly short. Honestly, though, I see him as being a great Nicest Kid in Town -- he doesn't look too old, and he's really not. Good casting choice. :)
"Curtis Holbrook was also reportedly cast in the film. Loved him in ASU, he'll be great I'm sure"
Curtis was cast is the Hairspray movie. He was recently in Grease in Pittsburgh and in his bio it said he was starting work on the Hairspray movie in July.
75-80% is not bad - but for a new musical who needs to get out of the red ASAP, it's not looking good.
What exactly "looks good" then?
I'm agreeing with Walt Summers - they're not about to close a show who's audience continues to grow week to week. The performance at the Tony's brought in a LOT of sales (their box office sales trippled that Monday) even if they didn't win anything, so I can only imagine that further appearances wherever could bring in even more.
I saw the show last Wednesday and Tuesday and it was sold out, they were even selling standing room. The same about the Wednesday before, and those are suppossed to be the slowest shows of the week. TKTS didn't have tix for TWS either.
