Wetumpka Depot to Present SCHOOL HOUSE ROCK LIVE

The musical is appropriate for children just discovering the vintage TV series as well as "Generation X-ers" seeking a taste of nostalgia. Based on the Emmy Award-winning 1970s Saturday morning cartoon series that taught history, grammar, math , science and politics through clever songs, the show is perfect for the entire family.

Director Kristy Meanor is excited to introduce a whole new generation to "A Noun is a Person, Place or Thing" and "Do the Circulation." "It's so fun to relive my child hood memories while directing this multigenerational cast," said Meanor. "Some of the cast were very familiar with School House Rock while some of the young actors are getting their first taste of this wonderful music. To this day, I still sing the School House Rock Preamble song to recall the words to the Preamble to the Constitution and I would bet other School House Rock fans do too. It's a perfect show for families to enjoy together and then go home and check out all the cartoons. Regardless of the audience member's age, its simply good, clean - and educational- fun!"
