The Luminous Dead at The Voxel

The Luminous Dead, adapted for the stage by Andrew Hungerford from Caitlin Starling's Bram Stoker Award-nominated novel, follows Gyre Price, a young cave explorer who lied her way into an off-world caving expedition hoping for a big payday and a skilled support team—instead, she got Em. The production uses projections, sound immersion, and physical ensemble work to build its science-fiction world, with Adanya Koger-Hobson as Gyre and Ayika Tshimanga as Em, supported by ensemble members David Armando, James Creque, Brandon Jones, and Misaki Weddington, who embody the extraterrestrial cave environment. The creative team includes scenic designer Sarah Beth Hall, costume designer Noelle Wedig-Johnston, sound and video designer Douglas Borntrager, and specialty props designer Brandon Johnston.
