Mother Mary is a poignant new play by KJ Moran Velz, set in 1968 Boston. It follows the unlikely friendship between Jo Cruz, a Puerto Rican taxi driver, and Mary O’Sullivan, a Catholic school teacher, as they navigate their shared loneliness and newfound connection. A fateful road trip further transforms both their lives, exploring themes of identity and belonging. This reading is part of Everyman Theatre's Script Tease Reading Series, dedicated to highlighting the work of regional playwrights.
