Making Moves: DMV is a free public conversation presented by the National Center for Choreography-Akron featuring arts leaders from the Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia region discussing the invisible labor and arts administration processes behind the scenes in dance. The event includes local dance case studies with national relevance exploring themes of labor organizing, adaptive thinking, and the power of community. Speakers include Christy Bolingbroke, Quynn Johnson, Ryan K. Johnson, taylor knight, Mallory Miller, Tariq Darrell O'Meally, anna thompson, and C. Brian Williams. This event is part of a 2026 national tour continuing the conversation set forth by the book Artists on Creative Administration: A Workbook from the National Center for Choreography.
