Beethoven’s iconic fifth symphony needs no  introduction. Composed in a period of violent turmoil as Napoleon’s armies were marching across Europe, as well as personal turmoil (Beethoven was rapidly going deaf) it remains a heroic sounding work, a whirlwind of energy, filled with triumph. After the high drama of Beethoven, enjoy one of Mozart’s most popular and endearing serenades,  Eine kleine Nachtmusik (A Little Night Music). An excerpt from Haydn’s Symphony No. 8 in G major.
