Big River continues at CPM

Big River

This production features 30 student performers from the Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Anne Arundel County, and Harford County regions.

Brad Bowers of Towson and Jeremy Griffin of Joppa head the cast as Huck Finn and the slave Jim, With Tim Flaharty of Abingdon Playing Tom Sawyer. Liz Boyer Hunnicutt directs and Julie Parrish is musical director.

At the center of the story is the interaction between Huck and Jim, who are both running away. Huck has faked his own death to escape his abusive father and the town matron who is trying to "civilize" Huck. When he discoveres Jim hiding by the river, he decides to help him escape by rafting to the Ohio. Along the way the two meet a pair of con men, and adventures ensue. When things turn ugly, they are helped by Tom Sawyer and others. Through these interactions both Jim and Huck discover their true characters, and the roads they should follow in life.

Big Riverwill run May 15, 16, 22, and 23 at 1:00pm, and May 16, at 4:00 p.m. in the Building J Lecture Hall on the campus of CCBC Essex.
Special Performances on May 10 for school groups:
10:00am and 12:00pm

Ticket prices:
$10.00 regular admission

$8.00 for birthday parties or scout troops.

$5.00 Students under 18 who receive this email with coupon.
