Arnold Scaasi, Canadian fashion designer who created ensembles for the rich and famous, died yesterday, August 4, 2015. He was 85. Scaasi crafted one of his most recognized, and perhaps infamous, outfits for stage and screen star Barbra Streisand. She wore it to the 1969 Academy Awards, where she won the Oscar for her performance in the film FUNNY GIRL. We remember the iconic fashion designer below:

Just yesterday, Tony Yazbeck was honored at the legendary Sardi's Restaurant with his very own portrait.Yazbeck earned 2015 Tony Award, Drama League Award and Outer Critics Circle Award nominations as well as the 2015 Astaire Award, for his portrayal of 'Gabey' in the hit Broadway revival of ON THE TOWN. His other Broadway credits include Chicago (Billy Flynn), Irving Berlin's White Christmas (Phil Davis), Gypsywith Patti LuPone (Tulsa, Outer Critics Circle nom.), A Chorus Line (Al), Oklahoma!, Never Gonna Dance, and Gypsy with Tyne Daly.

Producers of the Broadway revival of A.R. Gurney's Sylvia recently announced that they are seeking a 'model' K-9 to be the real-life face of the dog played by Annaleigh Ashford. The selected dog will have its picture built into the set, and the photo will be revealed at the end of every performance during a scene where Sylvia's owner looks at a photo of her.

Direct from two completely sold-out engagements in London, producers Scott Rudin and Lincoln Center Theater will bring the Young Vic's critically-acclaimed production of Arthur Miller's A View from the Bridge to Broadway this fall. The production, which swept the 2015 Olivier Awards - winning for Best Revival, Best Director, and Best Actor (Mark Strong) -will begin previews Wednesday evening, October 21 and open on Thursday, November 12 at the Lyceum Theatre, 149 West 45 Street. A View from the Bridge will play an 18-week limited engagement through Sunday, February 21, 2016.

THE COLOR PURPLE, directed by Tony Award winner John Doyle, will begin preview performances on Tuesday, November 10 at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre (242 West 45th street) and will officially open on Thursday, December 10. Check out photos of the marquee below!

The show, is created by Lynn Shore and written by Mr. Shore, Mark Vogel andDavid Burnham, with direction by Paul Stancato. HAPPY 50ish! will play a limited engagement through August 30.

Dave Thomas Brown, recently of Heathers: The Musical at New World Stages, leads a cast that also includes Wayne Duvall (O Brother Where Art Thou?, Leatherheads), Matt McGrath (Cabaret, Hedwig and the Angry Inch), Keith Nobbs (Lombardi, 'The Black Donnellys') and Afton C. Williamson ('Nashville,' 'Homeland') will star in Matthew Lopez's The Legend of Georgia McBride, the first production of MCC's 2015-16 Main Stage Season.
