So yes, I still fall victim to feeling like an imposter, but once I get out of my head, I feel so much joy and love for the career that I am in and for the show that I’m in.

It was probably one of the coolest, most surreal things I’ve ever seen in my life. I didn’t fully understand why people from all over the world came to my tiny lil town to see the eclipse, but after watching it I get it now.

I’ve always thought my process was a little all over the place when doing a show and this process has given me more of an outline and a way to organize what I have been doing, which I have found oh so helpful.

Every once in a while, I let in a glimmer of doubt that New York is too scary and I don’t actually like it and I could never live there, but then I go back. I go back and I see all the friends I have out there and I remember how much I love it.

And going after what I want and what I want to do, isn’t silly or ridiculous in the slightest. I also am allowed to change my mind at any point in time and that doesn’t make me any less of an artist. It does not mean I failed.

And don’t you dare settle for anything less than what you want and deserve. Because once you find that perfect fit for you, it is amazing. Transferring was so so scary, but that fear is nothing compared to the joy I have now.

So far, it’s been pretty good and has honestly already felt like a month already. I’m excited to be back and glad to have started classes, rehearsals, and all that good stuff.

All humans make mistakes. And that is okay. So if I do mess up or something does fall through the cracks, that is okay. I am going to be more forgiving to myself this year.

To say this time off has been needed is an understatement. This break has been a rollercoaster ride to say the least, and I wanted to talk a bit about what I’ve been doing to try and breathe, to relax, and to recoup.

I gave myself grace and I took the pressure off of myself. And that made me realize, that is something I never do. I ended up doing really well on my finals because I wasn’t nervous or scared. They were just something that I had to do and that I got to do. I got to sing. I got to dance. And I ended up having more fun with them.

I just needed to write something that I loved and that I thought was interesting. It doesn’t have to be perfect and I’m telling you right now, it isn’t perfect. But I love it. And I’m passionate about it. And that is what matters.

All I want to do is be all cozy in my jammies and watch movies all day and not move. My motivation always drains and I know I’m not the only college kid who feels that way. I don’t know how to fix it. But I want to make it better.

I loved this audition season. Because I finally let myself relax and have fun. Because whatever happens happens. And all I can do is go in that room and give it all I’ve got. It’s only 3 minutes of my life. And that is so exciting.

Feelings are so good at lying to us and tricking us. Remember why you love to dance. Remember how fun it is. Find the joy of it all. It’s hard sometimes, but I know it’s there.

I try to tell myself that that the stories I have to tell are incredibly important and that I should tell them. And I am learning to believe that. All of our stories deserve to be told and need to be told.

This past week, I had the absolute pleasure of debuting a brand new play of mine at my school, Dobbins Conservatory for Theatre and Dance. This is probably one of my new favorite pieces I’ve ever written and I’m sad to let it go so soon, but I could not be happier with how it went. This month, I wanted to talk briefly about Roulette, what it is, how I felt about it, how I came upon writing this piece, and just how cool it is that I get to do this.

I’m really joyful about everything going on and I can’t wait to see how everything is going to turn out.

Ever since I was in middle school, I used to stay up for hours on end watching concerts and performances from 54 Below. As corny as it sounds, Getting to be in the Do Not Sing List was such a dream come true and little Grace wouldn't believe it.

One of my favorite things is walking back into my community theatre for the summer. This is a big signifier for me that summer has begun. I walk in and I immediately feel at home.

I was so frustrated at the situation, but looking back, I wouldn't change a thing.
