It even went perfectly right after the show as Max von Essen, Geneva Carr, and one of the show's producers Jamie deRoy & her friends negotiated their way back stage through the disarrayed set in the Lyceum Theatre to congratulate the cast.

The voices of MasterVoices were gloriously heard in Carnegie Hall last night as Artistic Director Ted Sperling, orchestra and chorus brought a concert version of George & Ira Gershwin's Of Thee I Sing to Stern Auditorium.

The Actors Fund's Career Transition For dancers Jubilee gala was held in the New York Marriot Marquis last night and Broadwayworld was there. It was hosted by Tony & Emmy Award-winning Actress Bebe Neuwirth and honored Dancer Choreographer & Television dance Competion judge Carrie Ann Inaba, Academy & Tony Award-winning Actress Catherine Zeta-Jones and Tony Award nominee and New York City Ballet Principal Dancer Robert Fairchild.

After The New York Pops Season Opening Concert the excitement continued with Music Director and Conductor Steven Reineke and guests artists Ali Ewoldt and Matt Doyle at The Pops after party. The concert celebrated the the 35th season and the centennial of the birth of the orchestra's founder Skitch Henderson.

With New York City as the backdrop Marilyn Maye and the Tedd Firth Big Band brought some of the finest sounds ever heard to the stage of the Appel Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center last night.

On October 27, 2017 at 8:00PM, The New York Pops, led by Music Director Steven Reineke, will open its 35th season at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage, with a concert celebrating the centennial of the birth of the orchestra's founder, Skitch Henderson (1918-2018). The concert will feature the full 78-piece New York Pops orchestra performing some of the greatest hits of popular song, from Tin Pan Alley to today.

Last night in the beautiful Soho loft of internationally renowned artist/sculptor Edwina Sandys, granddaughter of Winston Churchill, the Gold Coast Arts Center and International Film Festival payed tribute to Rita Hayworth the iconic Hollywood film star.

TO LIFE was the theme of the event at Feinstein's/54 Below for the benefit of the LiveOnNY Foundation and it was wonderful to see Doctors, Surgeons, Hospital Administrators, officials of LiveOnNY and generous concerned New Yorkers take time off from their important work to enjoy an evening of Broadway & Comedy.

Marilyn Maye, who usually swings at night, showed the early afternoon crowd at the 92Y TALKS audience she can do it in the afternoon too.

When Michael Feinstein, who travels the world, walks out on the Feinstein's/54 Below stage, I love it when he says Hello New York and the audience roars back their welcome. Issac Sutton the international theater and concert star from Israel got that same kind of reaction when he greeted a full house of fans saying Shalom New York !

Everyone knows Hugh Hefner, but the man at Hefner's side for all those ground-breaking Playboy years was Victor Lownes, who passed away January 11, 2017. A Celebration of this extraordinary man's life was organized by The Mabel Mercer Foundation and Victor's wife Marilyn Cole Lownes. It was quite fitting, since Victor Lownes and Hugh Hefner bonded at the beginning of Playboy Magazine because of their love of the cabaret artist Mabel Mercer.

Throughout my life one song's melody and lyrics have played on a continuous loop. I've heard it sung by my wife's Russian family and their friends at parties and family affairs. Last night that song in the hands of Charles Busch at Feinstein's/54 Below was it's most heartfelt and profound interpretation I've ever experienced.

Klea Blackhurst the host of the concluding night of The 28th New York Cabaret Convention likes to remind folks that all roads lead to Ethel Merman . Last night's talent filled finale offered up some of the best vocalists in cabaret and all roads started and ended with Klea & Billy Stritch recreating some of their classic interpretations of the music of Hoagy Carmichael & Richard Whiting.

Intimate Nights: The Golden Age of Cabaret was the theme of the Third night of The 28th New York Cabaret Convention held at JALC Rose Theater. It was a grand eventing and the enthusiastic audience got to enjoy the artists quite well during the 3 1/2 hours of music.

The winning bidder at The New York Pops Silent Auction, whose proceeds help finance The Pops/Ed Programs of The New York Pops, got something way above the original listed value. The auction item was for one pianist to play at your private party. However not only did the pianist show up at the appointed time, he was joined by some of the world's greatest pianists and entertainers for the special evening.

In addition to producing great theatre works, Primary Stages produced one of this season's most exciting Galas. The 2017 event, celebrating Artistic Honorees Lynn Ahrens & Stephen Flaherty, Producer Honorees Janet B. Rosen & Marvin Rosen, and Corporate Honorees Jose Mendez and Katie Graziano, was a glamorous and talent-filled evening at Tribeca 360 with a full view of lower Manhattan as a backdrop to the festivities.

Opening this year's Cabaret Convention hosted by Artistic Director KT Sullivan will be Marilyn Maye.

Lynda Carter may be best known for winning our hearts as Wonder Woman, but every time she spins into New York City with her killer band she wins the adulation of the overflow audiences in the Appel Room at JALC.
