Opening Friday, May 22 (preview Thursday, May 21) at 8:00 p.m. and performing through Sunday, June 6 at the 78th Street Theatre LAB, The Secretaries, originally written and performed by the award-winning New York theatre troupe The Five Lesbian Brothers, irreverently and unapologetically explores the ever-expanding human fascination with sex and violence, the journey from self-improvement to self-destruction and the question of what it means to be ?strong? women in a modern world. The world premiere of Damian Wampler?s soulful play Twin Towers will be presented as part of The Planet Connections Theater Festivity from June 12 through 28, 2009 at the Robert Moss Theater at 440 Studios (440 Lafayette). Proceeds from the play will benefit the non-profit organization ENACT, where actors use role-play and drama therapy techniques to help New York City students learn emotional and social skills.
