STC's WHEN THE RAIN STOPS FALLING Extended Until 20 June

Due to popular demand, When The Rain Stops Falling by Andrew Bovell, presented as part of Sydney Theatre Company?s 2009 Main Stage Season will run until 20 June, instead of closing on 13 June as previously advertised. The extension follows Sydney critics? praise for this ?beautiful, profoundly moving drama? (Sunday Telegraph) from Adelaide?s Brink Productions, giving it ratings of ?four-and-a-half out of five? and ?nine-out-of-ten?. A new production of Bovell?s play, directed by Michael Attenborough has only just opened at London?s Almeida Theatre.

Victoria Theatre Achieves Standards of Excellence Certification

The Victoria Theatre Association has been certified with the ?Standards of Excellence? award by the Ohio Association of Nonprofit Organizations (OANO). The Victoria Theatre Association received its certification at a ceremony, May 12, 2009 in Columbus, OH, at the Fourth Annual Ohio Nonprofit Excellence Award Luncheon at the Ohio Statehouse, with over 250 nonprofit executives in attendance.

TheatreWorks, the nationally-acclaimed theatre of Silicon Valley, celebrates its 40th Anniversary season and commitment to the creation and development of new works with its New Works Festival ?09, sponsored by Microsoft. The eighth annual Festival commences July 15 with the world premiere production of Tinyard Hill, a rousing new musical by Tommy Newman and 2009 Jonathan Larsen Award-winning composer Mark Allen. This season?s festival, held in Palo Alto at the Lucie Stern Theatre, will feature workshops of new works by artists including Chris Smith, Raquel Bitton, Darrah Cloud , Kim D. Sherman, Joe DiPietro, Brendan Milburn, Valerie Vigoda, Laura Schellhardt, Rajiv Joseph, Kait Kerrigan, and Brian Lowdermilk, in addition to stunning concerts by Grammy-winning vocalist Maureen McGovern, and the nationally acclaimed singer and composer, Vienna Teng. PINOCCHIO The Original Italian Musical On Tour In Korea In 8/09

An Italian musical will be staged abroad in its original version: ?Pinocchio? ? written by Saverio Marconi and Pierluigi Ronchetti, with music by Dodi Battaglia, Red Canzian and Roby Facchinetti (famous in Italy as the pop band POOH) and lyrics by Stefano D?Orazio and Valerio Negrini ? will be on stage at the Opera Theatre of Seoul Arts Center from August 7th to 23rd 2009. The director Saverio Marconi is just working to a new edition fitted for an international audience and said in a statement ?This is a milestone in Compagnia della Rancia?s history: two turning points will happen with only a few months between them: an original Italian musical staged in Korea in August and Cats? Italian edition première in Rome in October.?

(The show was originally scheduled to open June 5.) In the July production of Adam Szymkowicz?s dark romantic comedy about the hazards and hilarity of online dating, Charlie Barron will play Elliot and Colleen Backer will play Susan.

San Francisco?s cutting-edge Cutting Ball Theater proudly announces the lineup for its 10th Anniversary season. The season opens in October with The Bald Soprano, Eugène Ionesco?s absurdist comic masterpiece, in a new translation by Cutting Ball Artistic Director Rob Melrose, who will also direct. The company is also poised to present ? And Jesus Moonwalks The Mississippi, a new play by Marcus Gardley, directed by Amy Mueller. Directed by Brad Rondeau, this tale begins with three stories, two of them well-known fairy tales, and one not quite as recognized, all involving wishes. Dirty and hard-worked Cinderella wishes to go to the festival, Jack (from the beanstalk story) wishes his cow would give milk, and the baker and his wife wish their futile attempts at starting a family would finally result in a pregnancy. Though many characters? stories come and go in the first act, they all revolve around the baker and his wife trying to reverse a curse set on them by an ugly witch, who sends them on a wild goose chase to find three coveted items that will bring her what she?s been longing for: youth. Join these and other characters like, Rapunzel, The Wolf, Red Riding Hood, Prince Charming, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and the Three Little Pigs, on a grown-up journey through times greatest fairy tale. Memorable songs from the show include: Children Will Listen, Agony, Your Fault and Giants in the Sky. This show is being Assistant Directed by Stephanie Heslip and Heidi Miles, Produced by Laura Clark, Ann Langford, Lisa Stahl and Lynn Wilde and Music Direction by Jill Quagliata.

Written by the composer of the musical Nevermore, Partial Eclipse is a fascinating evening of songs about six strangers all on the never-ending quest for love and happiness.
