Global sensation New Jersey mom, Patricia Krentcil, officially known as "Tan Mom" made headlines worldwide in May when she was accused of taking her then 5-year-old daughter into a tanning booth. After a successful roasting of Lady Bunny for her 50th birthday last week, Bianca Del Rio and the rest of the cast are hungry for more than just rabbit; they are ready to cook some bacon and fried eggs! The Castillo Theatre is opening its 29th season with the American premiere of Children of Killers by award-wining playwright, Katori Hall. Ms. Hall comes to Castillo fresh from the London and Broadway triumphs of The Mountaintop, her play about the last night of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and from the premiere at the Signature Theatre of Hurt Village, a play set in the projects of her hometown of Memphis. The Mountaintop won the Olivier Award for best play in 2010. Hurt Village won the 2011 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize. Ms. Hall is pleased that Children of Killers is being presented to Castillo's diverse audience.

Celebrating 80 Years, The Bergen County Players (BCP) presents THE MUSIC MAN, a musical comedy and treasured piece of theater by Meredith Willson. According to published reports, Monty Python's Spamalot, a new musical lovingly ripped off from Monty Python and the Holy Grail by Eric Idle and John Du Prez, directed by Christopher Luscombe, will move to the Playhouse Theatre following its current run at the Harold Pinter Theatre. After closing at the Pinter on September 9, the show will open at the Playhouse on November 14, where it will play through April 13.

Today in 1980, the second Broadway revival of Oklahoma! closed at the Palace Theatre, where it ran for 293 performances. Oklahoma! is the first musical written by the team of composer Richard Rodgers and librettist Oscar Hammerstein II. The musical is based on Lynn Riggs' 1931 play, Green Grow the Lilacs. Set in Oklahoma Territory outside the town of Claremore in 1906, it tells the story of cowboy Curly McLain and his romance with farm girl Laurey Williams. The original Broadway production opened on March 31, 1943.

United Airlines' Taste of Broadway concert took place in lower Manhattan Thursday afternoon, August 23rd at at the World Financial Center Plaza (220 Vesey Street between North End Ave. and West St.) The free outdoor concert was hosted by 2012 Tony Award® winners Judy Kaye and Michael McGrath, who are currently performing in Nice Work If You Can Get It, and featured performances from the casts of: CHICAGO, MAMMA MIA!, NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT, ROCK OF AGES, and THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA. Today in 1980, 42nd Street opened at the Wintergarden Theatre, where it ran for 3486 performances. 42nd Street is a musical with a book by Michael Stewart and Mark Bramble, lyrics by Al Dubin, and music by Harry Warren. The 1980 Broadway production, directed by an ailing Gower Champion and orchestrated by Philip J. Lang, won the Tony Award for Best Musical and became a long-running hit. Based on the novel by Bradford Ropes and the subsequent 1933 film adaptation, it focuses on the efforts of famed dictatorial Great White Way director Julian Marsh to mount a successful stage production of a musical extravaganza at the height of the Great Depression.

Stage and screen stars Bebe Neuwirth and Malcolm Gets will join forces Saturday, October 13 for BUCKS COUNTY CABARET, a one-night-only concert to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. The evening of Broadway standards and other popular songs will be held at the newly renovated, historic Bucks County Playhouse in New Hope, PA (70 South Main Street, New Hope, PA 18938).

Barbra Streisand's private music vault holds all the master tapes she's recorded for five decades. Now, she's sharing 11 previously unreleased songs, spanning a cross-section of her career from 1963 to the present. The collection, titled Release Me, will be available on vinyl (Tuesday, September 25) and on CD (Tuesday, October 9).

Producers of the 2012 Tony Award Winner for Best Revival of a Musical, The Gershwins' PORGY AND BESS announced today that five-time Tony Award winner AUDRA McDONALD will return to an eight-performance schedule beginning Tuesday, August 28th. She had previously been on a schedule of seven performances per week, not performing the Wednesday evening shows.

Happy Birthday, Andrew Rannells! Rannells played Bob Gaudio in the First National Tour of Jersey Boys. In January 2009, he reprised the role of Gaudio in the musical's Broadway production. Rannells originated the role of Elder Price in The Book of Mormon, a musical written by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone and Avenue Q composer Robert Lopez. For his performance, he was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Leading Actor in a Musical. His last performance was June 10, 2012. He will soon play Bryan Buckley in Ryan Murphy's new television series The New Normal on NBC.
