Five powerful productions have been scheduled for Center Theatre Group's 2013 season at the Mark Taper Forum, it was announced today by CTG Artistic Director Michael Ritchie.

Tony Award winner Donna McKechnie (A Chorus Line, Company, Promises, Promises), Tony Award nominee Will Swenson (Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Hair), Jill Paice (Rebecca, Death Takes A Holiday, Curtains), Jeremy Kushnier (Jesus Christ Superstar, Jersey Boys, Footloose) and Jim Walton (Merrily We Roll Along, The Music Man, Sweeney Todd) have joined the cast of the Broadway-themed web series PZAZZ 101.

Producers Robyn Goodman, Scott M. Delman and Amanda Lipitz just announced that Alicia Silverstone is joining Cheyenne Jackson, Ari Graynor, Daniel Breaker, Jenni Barber and Henry Winkler in THE PERFORMERS, completing the cast of David West Read's new Broadway comedy. THE PERFORMERS will begin preview performances October 23 prior to its official opening night November 14 at the Longacre Theatre (220 W. 48 St.) in New York City.

According to the New York Times, Doubleday will soon publish a biography of recently deceased playwright Gore Vidal. Jay Parini, a friend of Vidal's for many years, will write the book, which is planned to be released in 2015.

Bob Boyett and the National Theatre of Great Britain announceD today that their acclaimed Broadway production of ONE MAN, TWO GUVNORS recouped its $3.25 million capitalization, during the week ending August 19, 2012. In 2004, Corden played the role of Timms in the original London stage production of Alan Bennett's play The History Boys, as well as in the Broadway, and Sydney productions. In 2011 he attracted international attention as the lead in the award-winning comedy play One Man, Two Guvnors, which transferred from the National Theatre to the West End and then to Broadway, and was also cinecast worldwide via National Theatre Live. For his ongoing Broadway run of the play, Corden won the 2012 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play.

According to Deadline.com, playwright David Mamet is currently working on writing a pilot for a new version of 'Have Gun - Will Travel' for CBS. Mamet will also direct the pilot, which will be based off of the 1957 Western drama of the same name.

A new trailer for Lifetime's all-African-American remake of STEEL MAGNOLIAS has just been released by the cable network. Golden Globe and Grammy Award winner and Academy Award nominee Queen Latifah has signed on to star in and executive produce the television adaptation of the iconic play and 1989 film of the same name, reuniting her with her producing duo Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, from the Oscar and Golden Globe winning Chicago and Hairspray. (Zadan and Meron also produce Lifetime's Drop Dead Diva and Smash.) She will take on the role of 'M'Lynn' and star alongside an all-star cast that includes Tony Award winner Phylicia Rashad as 'Clairee,' Golden Globe and multiple Emmy winner Alfre Woodard as 'Ouiser,' Grammy winner Jill Scott as 'Truvy,' Adepero Oduye as 'Annelle,' and Condola Rashad as 'Shelby.'
