Producers Carole Black and Pat Mitchell present EMOTIONAL CREATURE, the new play written by Tony Award®-winning playwright, performer, activist, and The Vagina Monologues author Eve Ensler, will get a New York premiere this fall. Directed by Obie Award-winner Jo Bonney (By the Way, Meet Vera Stark) with original music and musical direction by Charl-Johan Lingenfelder, Emotional Creature will open on Monday, November 12, 2012, direct from an acclaimed World Premiere at Berkeley Repertory Theatre in California.

Disney's landmark musical event, The Lion King, celebrates 15 years on Broadway Tuesday, November 13th at the Minskoff Theatre (200 West 45th Street, New York City). Based on Lawrence Kasdan's 1992 Warner Bros. film, this brand new musical of The Bodyguard, with book by Alex Dinelaris will open at the Adelphi Theatre in Autumn 2012. Previews begin on 6 November 2012, twenty years after the release of the Oscar nominated film. The production stars Heather Headley and Lloyd Owen. The producers of GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS have announced a new opening press date to account for cancelled rehearsals as a result of Hurricane Sandy. With several other Broadway shows slated to open in the coming weeks, and taking the week of Thanksgiving into account the new opening press date will be Saturday, December 8, 2012 with a review release date of Monday, December 10, 2012.

Stephanie J. Block & Sebastian Arcelus will be dedicating Stephanie's performance on Wednesday night to the Covenant House. Annie, the new production of the Tony Award-winning musical opens November 8, 2012 at the Palace Theatre (Broadway at 47th Street). As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Haydn Gwynne has been cast as Margaret Thatcher opposite Helen Mirren as the Queen in Peter Morgan's play The Audience at the Gielgud Theatre. Preview performances begin Feb. 15, with the show's opening slated for March 5, and the run ending June 15, 2013. Check out the just-released poster art for the show below!

Happy Birthday Andrea McArdle! As 'Annie,' McArdle became the youngest performer ever to be nominated for a Tony Award as Best Lead Actress in a Musical. Also on Broadway, she starred in the Jerry Herman musical Jerry's Girls alongside Carol Channing and Leslie Uggams; she portrayed the sassy Smoking Car, Ashley, in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Starlight Express; and starred as Margy Frake in State Fair; as Fantine in Les Miserables and, most recently as Belle in Disney's Beauty and the Beast.

The cast will be in the studio on Monday, November 5 to record a cast album. A release date has not yet been announced.
