Some of Broadway's best young talent will sing dazzling new arrangements of songs from Adele's two albums, 19 and 21. The concert will feature over 15 cover songs to celebrate the pop superstar's greatest hits, accompanied by a full band orchestrated, arranged, and music directed by Joshua Stephen Kartes.

Newsies, the new American musical, begins performances tonight, Thursday, March 15, at Broadway's Nederlander Theatre (208 W 41st St) for a limited run. Kicking off their limited run, the Broadway company of Newsies will make their national television debut on Thursday, March 22nd when they perform "Seize The Day" and "Santa Fe" on ABC's "Good Morning America."

BROADWAY ROX, a new concert event, recently played Queens Theatre (14 United Nations Avenue South in Flushing Meadows Corona Park). Produced by Nederlander Worldwide Entertainment, BROADWAY ROX celebrated the rock and pop hits of Broadway including songs from Wicked, Jersey Boys, Rent, The Who's Tommy, Mamma Mia, Spring Awakening, Hair, Rock of Ages, Jesus Christ Superstar and many more. The musical evening featured a 5 piece band with music supervision, orchestrations and arrangements by Jason Howland (composer of Little Women) and is directed by Rob Evan and Rich Affannato. On last night's episode of ABC's hit comedy series MODERN FAMILY entitled 'Send Out the Clowns, Tony Award-Winner Ellen Barkin ('The Big Easy,' 'Ocean's Thirteen') and Bobby Cannavale ('Will & Grace,' 'Third Watch') made guest star appearances. The episode took place at the funeral service for a beloved clown mentor which reunited Cameron with his estranged ex-clown partner, Lewis (Bobby Cannavale). Also in the episode, Phil was serious about landing a very important listing, only to get trumped by a notorious bulldozer of an agent, Verna Roth (Ellen Barkin); and Manny had a cool new friend, which made both Jay and Gloria suspicious. Next week on SMASH, Everything comes to a head as Eileen (Anjelica Huston), Derek (Jack Davenport) and the team present 'Marilyn The Musical' to would-be investors. Ivy (Megan Hilty) is under pressure to perform, while her mother, Broadway star Leigh Conroy (special guest Bernadette Peters), undermines her at every turn. Karen (Katharine McPhee) must decide between the workshop and a meeting with a big-time music producer. Today in 1965, Do I hear a Waltz? opened at the 46th St. Thetare (Now the Richard Rodgers Theatre), where it ran for 220 performances. Do I Hear a Waltz? is a musical with a book by Arthur Laurents, music by Richard Rodgers, and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim. It was adapted from Laurents' 1952 play The Time of the Cuckoo, which was the basis for the 1955 film Summertime starring Katharine Hepburn. The Broadway cast included Elizabeth Allen, Sergio Franchi, Carol Bruce, Madeleine Sherwood, Julienne Marie, Stuart Damon, Fleury D'Antonakis, and Jack Manning. It was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical, Best Original Score, and Best Scenic Design, but lost in all three categories.

Today in 2005, Spamalot opened at the Shubert Theatre, where it ran for 1575 performances. Monty Python's Spamalot is a musical comedy 'lovingly ripped off from' the 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Like the film, it is a highly irreverent parody of the Arthurian Legend, but it differs from the film in many ways, especially in its parodies of Broadway theatre. Eric Idle, a member of the Monty Python team, wrote the musical's book and lyrics and collaborated with John Du Prez on most of the music. The original 2005 Broadway production, directed by Mike Nichols, won three Tony Awards, including the Tony Award for Best Musical of the 2004-2005 season and received 14 Tony Award nominations.

Today in 1969, 1776 opened at the 46th Street Theatre (now the Richard Rogers Theatre), where it ran for 1217 performances. 1776 is a musical with music and lyrics by Sherman Edwards and a book by Peter Stone. The story is based on the events surrounding the signing of the Declaration of Independence. It focuses on, and partly fictionalizes, the efforts of John Adams to persuade his colleagues to vote for American independence and to sign the document. The production was nominated for five Tony Awards and won three, including the Tony Award for Best Musical. The musical was made into a film of the same name in 1972 and was revived on Broadway in 1997.

Today in 1987, Starlight Express opened at the Gershwin Theatre, where it ran for 761 performances. Starlight Express is a rock musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber (music), Richard Stilgoe (lyrics) and Arlene Phillips (choreography), with later revisions by Don Black (lyrics) and David Yazbek (music and lyrics for the 2nd US tour). The story follows a child's dream in which his toy train set comes to life; famously the actors perform wearing roller skates.

Val Kilmer will present his one man play, Citizen Twain, in a limited run at The Historic Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever Cemetery over just two weekends this March. The production will run Friday, March 23rd through Sunday, April 1st. Check out photos of Kilmer as Twain below!

The limited engagement of Manhattan Theatre Club's THE COLUMNIST begins performances on Wednesday, April 4 and opens Wednesday, April 25 at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre.

Val Kilmer will present his one man play, Citizen Twain, in a limited run at The Historic Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever Cemetery over just two weekends this March. After a year and a half hiatus, Seth Rudetsky's famed Seth's Broadway Chatterbox has returned to Don't Tell Mama. Seth's Broadway Chatterbox includes interviews and performances by noted Broadway celebrities and is a raw, funny and insightful interview program that really has no equal. The series kicked off on January 5, 2012, and most recently welcomed composer Alan Menken, followed by the cast of off-Broadway's DISASTER. This week, March 15, past ON A CLEAR DAY cast mates Jessie Mueller and David Turner will make a guest appearance!

Gamut Theatre Group's Popcorn Hat Players will present The Jungle Book written by former Core Company Member and current Resident Playwright, Sean Adams. Performances will be Saturday, April 14 at 2:30 and 7:30 at Whitaker Center's Sunoco Theatre in Downtown Harrisburg.

Annie Baker's Body Awareness, her first full-length professional production after leaving NYU's Dramatic Writing program in 2008, asks two simple questions, as asked by Lily Janiak in her February 2012 review of the play in San Francisco Weekly: “What if our loved ones are the people least likely to accept us for who we want to be? And what if the best we all can do is try to keep living together anyway?'

Performances being tomorrow, Thursday, March 15, for the Lincoln Center Theater production of 4000 MILES, a new play by Amy Herzog, directed by Daniel Aukin in the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater (150 West 65 Street). 4000 Miles premiered last summer as a production of LCT3, Lincoln Center Theater's programming initiative devoted to producing the work of new artists and developing new audiences. 4000 Miles features its original LCT3 cast - Gabriel Ebert, Greta Lee, Mary Louise Wilson and Zoe Winters. Opening night is Monday, April 2 at 6:45pm.

According to E!Online, Broadway veteran Darren Criss was asked to host Season 2 of FOX's 'The X Factor.' A source told E! that the HOW TO SUCCEED alum 'politely declined the gig' because of his busy schedule.

The Flea Theater will present a reading of Hamish Linklater's The Vandal, April 3, at The Museum of Jewish Heritage starring Golden Globe winners Sigourney Weaver, Alan Rickman, and Outer Critics Circle nominee Noah Robbins with direction by Flea's Artistic Director Jim Simpson.

Goodspeed Musicals will present its much-anticipated new production of Mame, the brassy musical comedy from April 20 - July 1 at the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, Conn.
