KADDISH, et al. Set for New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, 4/27March 26, 2012Renowned violinist Gil Shaham joins Music Director Jacques Lacombe and the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra (NJSO) for "Shaham & Lacombe," a concert program the Orchestra will present in Newark, New Brunswick and Morristown April 27-29. Shaham and the NJSO will give the world premiere of Richard Danielpour's Kaddish for Violin and Orchestra; Shaham also performs Berg's Violin Concerto, "To the Memory of an Angel." The program also includes Prokofiev's Symphony No. 3, for which the composer adapted music from his opera The Fiery Angel, and Mozart's Masonic Funeral Music.
Luke Jerram's PLAY ME, I'M YOURS Opens 4/12March 27, 2012Los Angeles, the music capital of the world, kicks it up a notch thanks to the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra (LACO) and its installation of "Play Me, I'm Yours," originated by British artist Luke Jerram. An unprecedented large-scale art installation, LACO's "Play Me, I'm Yours" features an astounding 30 vividly decorated pianos installed in high-traffic public neighborhoods across the Southland to bring music and creativity to the region for three weeks from April 12 to May 3, 2012.

Sloan Project for New Plays on Science and Technology will tackle Post-Concussion Syndrome when it presents the world premiere of 27-year-old playwright Patrick Link's Headstrong. The play, directed by Ensemble Studio Theatre Artistic Director William Carden, begins previews April 18 for an opening April 30 at The Ensemble Studio Theatre, 549 West 52nd Street.
